Which to layer over Opti-Seal for the ultimate lasting protection?

You could just go with multiple coats of OS. I have covered OS with IW the last two winters, on my dark gray Focus, and I was happy with it. IW stands up well to "wand washes" when it is time to get the road salt off the car.

That is a possibility as well. I might just do that. Another coat of OS and then IW. Sounds like a pretty bullet proof setup when maintained with AW or OSW.

Exactly what I was saying and the Optimum Car Wax (OCW) will give it a little of that carnuba glow. Washing by hand with Optimum No Rinse(ONR) will also help as it adds a little protection itself.
 
Sorry to hijack the thread, but this Opti-Seal stuff seems very interesting. How long does it need to cure before you can nuba?
 
Usually about a day is recommended. I know that IME, when you first apply it, it looks almost slightly hazy, even when there is really no residue left. After a day, there is a huge difference in its appearance and it looks absolutely slick with no haze. So, that to me means that about a day curing time is quite necessary. YMMV.
 
Glad to hear of the positive experiences with OS as I just received my first bottle. I need to do winter prep on about 6 cars in my family. All cars except mine will probably get OS and a Collinite 476 or IW topper. My Silver car will probably get JW Prime Acrylic, AJT, OS then hit with OCW every couple weeks.



Anyone have a suggestion on what the use under OS on the other cars. They are:

1) White '99 Regal

2) Champagne/Gold '00 Olds Silhouette (Dad's work vehicle)

3) Black '97 Olds Regency (neglected)

4) Galaxy Gray '08 Mazda5

5) Tropical Red Met '08 Kia Rio 5-door

6) Wedgewood Blue '06 Ford Explorer



I'm thinking about PO, OS, 476 OR 476 before OS?? What would be best?
