As some of you might already know i am in the process to do this detail... Right now i also have the 3m ok so i have EVERYTHING including

3M05933 - 3M Perfect-Itâ„¢ III Rubbing Compound, Quart

3M05937 - 3M Perfect-Itâ„¢ III Machine Glaze, Quart

I also have the

IP & FPII

I have read several tips so i am trying to get my final help before i go to the garage and start this process. Below is a sample of the swirl/scratches i am dealing with and please forgive me for the size.

After using 3MPIIRC(05933) concentrate on the upper left. I first used white pad and then used the yellow pad then also the white pad.

After both 3MIIRC and 3MPIIIMG....hmm, the pic looks hazy or is it suppose to look like this?

BTW, i haven't used the IP/FPII...should i try it? and with what pad?

P-III MG with a polishing pad first.. Work it in good, wipe, then do it again :) See if that helps !!

With the PC? I would go straight to the 3M PI-III RC, follow up with the PI-III MG, then FPII if you wish. I think PI-III MG leaves a finish that is ready for your LSP.

Even though those swirls look mild, I would be willing to bet that with the PC you will need two passes with the 3M RC.

Just a guess and it is hard to say without seeing the paint firdt hand.

The conventional wisdom is to try the least aggressive approach first and see if that will suffice. That would be the 05937/polishing. Then if this mild approach didn't work, you'd try the next most aggressive combo, namely the 05933/polishing. Then if *that* didn't work, you'd try 05933/cutting.

But it it were *my* vehicle, I'd probably just try the 05933/polishing first since that's usually (at least) what I have to resort to anyhow.

Looks better to me, but that next-to-last pic has too much weird stuff going on for me to really see the paint clearly.

You might try another pass with the MG, working it without pressure until it's almost dry, or go over it with FP.

the thing is i have

1 yellow and orange pad for cutting

1 maguire yellow for polishing

2 whites for polishing

so which one do i use with the MG this time. I wish i knew i would have order more pads. I haven't even touched the blacks and others.
