Which Poorboy's SSR polish(s) to try?

Having been up until now always a fan of the Meguiar's 80 series polishs like 80, 82 and 83. Also having used products like AIO, VM, and dabbled a bit with FP-II and IP, I've still been curious about the Poorboy's polishes (SSR 1, 2, 2.5, and 3) but surprisingly still haven't tried them to date.

I don't want to add too much more redundency to my inventory. If I had to choose one of the Poorboy SSRs, which one have you found to be the most versatile and useful? Or put another way, which one would best supplement some of the other products I already have.

Thanks!

SSR2.5 and SSR1 are all you should need for most cars

if you want only one SSR2.5, it has a some good cut and finishes down ok

then just finish with VM

SSR2.5 can remove some deep swirls and can also be LSP ready when you use a polishing pad and work it in the proper amount of time. Then you could go for SSR1 to really finish the paint off or stick with your VM. FWIW, I wouldn't use SSR2.5 on my daily driver - just on neglected cars. I like it because it makes short work of swirls and can be LSP ready, looks good and super easy to use. Easy on and easy off. Search SSR2.5 and you'll find some tips I posted lately on how to use SSR2.5 for the best results. I have used IP and FP and they are a major PITA to work with compared to SSR lines, and it has more cut then IP as well...

SSR 2.5 and SSR1

SSR2.5 is pretty much a goto for me on the swirled up cars I see and does a pretty fine job. It will dust up though sometimes. If that is annoying to you then I would suggest going with the optimum line of polishes.

When working on something horrible SSR3 will work well, although you have to go easy, the stuff is like liquid sandpaper, and will have to be followed up with something else to be LSP ready.

I would say SSR 2.5 is the most versatile. With a cutting pad it will take care of pretty bad swirls. On some light colored paints it can finish down LSP ready with a light polishing pad. Pretty user friendly with a PC, can be used in direct sun, but does dust somewhat with a cutting pad at high speeds.

It is supposed to be similar in cut to 83. If needed you can finish down with some of the Megs stuff you have such as 82 or 80.

I used SSR2.5 this weekend to test a panel on my Lexus (search Lexus paint to see the softness issue) and the SSR on a Green pad really cut the paint well, but did need a finishing polish.

On one panel, I used SSR2.5 with an Edge yellow pad and then followed up with 106ff with an Edge green pad. Results came out really well.

The SSR2.5 is the most versatile, has good cut, and finishes down well (similar to #83, but a little easier to work with). It will leave something behind on the paint, moreso than the other SSR's. The surface will not be "squeaky clean" after, you will need to do an IPA wipedown if you want that.
