Which PC pads to buy?

scooch

PC @ 6 = Ludicrous speed
Going to buy a PC and have been reading about people liking Megs pads, LC pads, and Sonus pads. Has anyone had experience with all 3 or any 2? I was looking into buying the Sonus DAS kit but I have know way of comparing their pads to Megs or LC. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

I have the Megs pads and the LS pads stocked at all times. The Megs pads I use solely for rotary use because I like to keep the pad as flat as possible. For the PC go with the LC 7.5" VC pads. Their design allows you to work the product better, atleast IMO. The shape is also great for getting into tight spots around the mirrors and such, and if you have to work on a scratch or something tilting the VC pad on its egde allows you to only abade the clear away from a smaller area. Of all the pads I have used the LC pads seem to hold up better than most and I have never had a problem with the velcro coming off. Finally the 7.5's are more safe to work with because the backing plate area is recessed into the pads.

I have not compared the three, but I've had great success with the Lake Country Variable Contact pads.

Most "private brands" use Lake Country, which I feel is a good indicator of their quality.

Correct me if I am wrong but if I buy LC 7.5" pads then I need a 6" backing plate and also a larger counterweight?

I only use the LC VC pads on my Metabo rotary. I just didnt care for the Meguiars pads. Each person has a different opinion so Id give a few of them a try before buying a bunch of them.

I have used the Meg's and the Sonus pads. Both are good, but currently I like the DAS pads. I seem to be more "efficient" with them.
