Which pad kit to make it easy on me?

After exhaustive reading on PC threads here, I just ordered the PC kit from Coastal, and want to get some pads. My understanding of the coastal kit is that it comes with only a 6 inch foam pad. Can anyone provide me a link for a kit that includes the basics for a new guy. Is the PC combo here on Autopia (3 pads) sufficient?

Sorry, I know the PC subject has been covered ad naseum, and I have searched and read the various threads...

Thanks... that very helpful.

I'm not familiar, but I take it Lake Country is a good brand? What makes these kinds of determinations? Is it the concave (anti-splatter) nature of their pads?

Harkonen- Lots of factors contribute to "what makes for a good pad". You won't go wrong with Lake or Meguiar's, and others are good too. Concave/flat, doesn't matter all that much with a PC. Start with 6"-6.5" and get a feel for the machine. Personal preferences as to pads and products will develop as you gain experience with it. The best thing to do is just get familiar with the whole thing.

Get a few cutting pads, a few more polishing pads, and a couple of finishing pads. IMO you'll do better just buying the specific pads you need as opposed to buying prepared "kits". Buy plenty, they don't go bad and you'll use them all eventually. If something happens to one you don't want to be out of luck, and things *do* happen. Do some calculations on shipping cost and make your purchases cost-effective.

Couple of other options.....

Autopia Store - Lake Country and Sonus

Detailer's Paradise - Lake Country

CMA - Lake Country

If you are getting a hook and loop backing plate already, CMA has a kit that doesn't include one. The bare minimum to get started would be 2 cutting pads and 2 polishing pads. Evaluate the products you will be using and go from there....you may want more polishing pads or even a couple of finishing pads.

Thanks everyone... I hadn't realized the additional $ investment needed for pads  Oh, well... gotta have 'em! So, a'spending I will go.
