I have been using just meguiars gold class was for awhile and was sastified but now I think I want to go a step further. PLease tell me if I am doing this right. Keep in mind this car is washed once a week and waxed every two so it is very clean.

Steps-

1. Wash with Dawn

2. Claybar entire car

3. Meguiars Gold Class Wash

4. Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover

5. Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze

6. Meguiars #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax

7. Meguiars #20 Polymer Sealent

I am now sure about the last two steps, should I even you #20? should the order be changed in anyway? Would you suggest anything different, adding something or substitute anything? Thank you in advance for any help.

Beason,

I'd reverse the last two steps, and do the #20 before applying the #26. I'm currently doing just that on a Harvest Gold Ford Taurus, and the #20 is definitely worth the effort!

Hey!

You have a couple of items in reverse order.

It should be after washing and claying:

#9 + #7 + #20 + #26

You will love this combo!!! By using #20 Polymer and using the #26 Carnauba hybrid, you are getting the best of both worlds: Protection from the polymer and depth of shine and warmth of a carnauba!!

Try it! I think you will like it!!

Hey Beason,

Yes use both the #20 followed by the #26. Remember, after wiping off the #20, leave the car over night to allow the #20 to set up. Then apply the #26.

***Do not leave the #20 residue on over night. Wipe it off about 15 min. after application. Leave the car over night so the #20 can set up. ****

If you are doing this by hand I would just go

1. Wash with dawn

2. Clay

3. Meguiars Gold Class Wash to get all the residue off

4. Meguiar's #7 (#9 does hardly anything for swirls by hand)

5. Meguiar's #20 (let it cure over night as Tim stated.)

6. Then top with #26.

My 2 cents,

Jason

How is the #20 in giving Protection is it close to that of UPP and EX Can it be topped with Carnuba like S100 or Pinnicle ?

FrOzen,

The topic of #20 longevity has been discussed many times. I even replied to your PM regarding the #20. Please use the search function. There is lots of good info there!
