I was thinking that at first, but then he asked if "they" are about the same. I don't think he would ask if clay and clay lubricant are the same so I just wondered if he forgot to post pictures or the names of either two different types of clay or clay lubricant.

i'am sorry that's how i should have put it.i never heard of claying before i saw them on the message boards.just wondering are they all the same or are they all different in one way or another.

It's hard to say these days... I won't bore you with details but all clay available in the US today is made by one company. There may be slight variations in clay from one supplier to another though.

There are different levels of clay and they are designed for different reason...most OTC that you buy in kits are for removing contaminants on paint like pollution, bird droppings, water spots, etc...If this is the first time that you are going to do this...buy a kits at any decent auto parts store...comes with the lube and clay...you can read on here how to use it or on the box...its really quite simple...The brands that you will see in the stores are Mothers, Claymagic, Meguiars...all of which are good for starters

i prefer to wash my car first then clay with soapy water. i don't think it's necessary to to use the lube, waste of product imho. :yay :rockon
