Which of these polishes is most effective by hand?

I've got swirl marks on the gas tank (well, it's really an airbox cover) on my Harley V-Rod and there's no way I'm going to try to take a PC to it, even with 4" pads... It's just way too contoured. I have some of the little handheld "German" pads from Autogeek that have orange pad on one side and gray on the other, so I will probably be using those.

I have the following polishes:

ZPC

Menzerna IP/FPII

Menzerna PO106FF

OP

Scratch-X

SSR2.5/SSR1

1ZPP

3M rubbing compound (I forget exactly which one it is)

VM

I also have Poorboy's PP, Klasse AIO, JW Prime, UPC, RMG, and YCW.

Any recommendations?

Do you have a pic?

Without seeing I would make a 50/50 mixture of IP/FP and apply with a MF pad. Most bikes have dealer installed swirls or bluejean micromarring, so aggressive is normally not needed. That being said, I buff with machines using 3" pads on practically every Harley we do. If you turn the front wheel you can usually reach all areas.

I sure don't have a pic, but I will rethink taking the PC to it. If not, I'm THINKING I may either try the Menzerna combination you suggested or maybe even Scratch-X.

With ScratchX I feel like I need to go over again with something "lighter". The IP/FP can just be sealed.

Also the "MIX" is an excellent chrome polish.

106FF works well by hand. Well, by hand using a PC pad. That was the day I had the Rolls to polish and wax and my PC died. I had already primed the pad and my PC was dead. I used the pad to buff out the trunk lid and it turned out very well. However, I decided I could probably run down to Lowe's and buy another PC and then use it to buff out the car in the same time I could do it by hand.

I'd go with 106 and VM or RMG.
