Which Megs polish for my VW?

I'm ordering a PC once I get my tax refund, been going back an forth from PC kit to kit..and I think I decided on the Megs G100 kit. It just comes with Speed Glaze #80, obviously this won't be enough for my paint, it's pretty scuffed up. My question is, which polish should I pick up? (I have a local paint supplier that carries Megs full line, so what doesn't come with the kit, I can easily pick up) It's moderately swirled, no deep scratches, just needs a good detail.

Oh, and which is the NXT equivalent, #21 or is it #26? I always forget...

Pick up a bottle of #83. I've seen Mike Phillips of Meguiar's remove defects with #80 and a G100 that onlookers thought needed more aggressive polish. Try the #80 first, along with a second pass before stepping up to #83.

#21 is closest to NXT Tech Wax.

Thats what I was thinking. That with a burgundy pad should do the trick, then polishing pad with speed glaze?

Whoops, didn't see the rest.. So, between 80 and 83, I should be set?

Step away from the burgandy pad! You can use it with a microfiber bonnet to remove wax, but don't use it with #83, #80, #82, NXT, #21, etc.

Use the YELLOW 8006 for polish and the TAN 9006 for wax or sealant.

You may want to pick up Mike's DVD on using the PC from ShowCarGarage.com.

Ok, good to know. I have watched some videos on the usage, and I have a little experience under my belt already. :) I just am unsure about Megs pads at this point.

Get an orange and white LC pad from a sponsor. They add more flexability vs the Megs yellow polishing (both are firmer) and they will remove swirls easier.

#80 is simply awesome. Pad dependent. Meaning it will cut with an aggressive pad, polish with a med. pad, or glaze with a finishing pad.

For the price, it can never be beat.

not sure what year VW but you will need a rotary to make it swirl free. m2c Very hard paint. Can you post some upclose pictures of the defects?

VW clear is *really* hard, at least it is on my '04. Even a Cyclo with orange pad and PO106FF didn't make a difference, and this was with very minor scratching. Tread lightly at first, but you may need something aggressive.

HMT? I know you from OT for sure, which is where I heard about this place.

Crap....really don't want to go at it with a rotary... I read that anything more than 83 isn't recomended for the PC.. So far what I have planned on ordering is some 83, 80, 2x each megs 8006 and 9006 pads, and obviously the PC7424. What else am I looking at to make this less painfull? :D
