Which is the best bang for the buck?

I was in the same boat a few weeks back. If money wasn't an object, I would have got the Flex. Since money WAS an object and I am only going to be doing my car and some family members cars, I went with the G110. I have used it once and can say it does a great job. You will need some pads and maybe some different size backing plates. I have 2 - 6in pads (1 Polish and 1 Finish) and 7 - 7in Pads (1 Cut, 3 Polish, and 3 Finish). For the 7in Soft Buff 2.0 pads I also baught the W68DA backing plate. I'm not saying it’s a perfect setup but I feel I have enough pads for whatever car comes my way.

I went with a G110 and am on my 2nd machine. The first unit died after only 2 polishing sessions. Luckily, Meguiar's stood behind their product and sent me the latest model. So far it's worked like a champ, i.e. feels smoother than the first unit with a bit more oomph. I'm happy.

get at least two to three 5.5" white and orange pads and as far as polishes go, there are plenty to choose from...

edit: here's a great kit...

UDM and get some Menzerna polishes. You need one cutting pad, two polishing pads, and one finishing pad to start with IMO.

menzerna polishes are pretty good, but they are pricey, but like what slickery said, get some good pads, and maybe even try the PB SSR line since it is cheaper.
