Which dash protectant?

If I had a choice I would never put any protectant on the dash and door panels, Just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Is 303 the product with the least shine?? What happens if I never put a protectant on the dash and door panels? (this car is garaged)

I wouldn't "never" put a protectant on the interior panels. If you are worried about not wanting to add a shine then go with Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer. It leaves no shine and no greasy mess but provides a protectant.

The einszett Cockpit Premium is one of the best in my opinion, for leaving nothing on the surface and providing an evenly clean surface. If you like a little shine then I would recommend Sonus Cockpit Detailer.

I hate anything that changes the appearance of my interior plastic. So far the only product that seems to do this for me is Optimum Leather Care. 303 adds way to much shine for me, even when buffed off.

I've hardly ever treated either the A8 or S8, maybe once or twice each since new, and they're both fine after 8-10 years. These days I pretty much just use Meg's Interior QD, and only so infrequently that I'm still using my first bottle of it after I-dunno-how-long.

What can happen if you just clean but never add protectant to the dash and door pannels? What do people think of Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer??

Meg has stated that QID is very low on protecting abilities. It is a great product, it smells very good. Its essentially, like it's called, a quick interior detailer. Much like an exterior detail spray, it just cleans things up a bit and might add a touch of protection. If your car stays outdoors, I would recommend something a little beefier in the protection dept.

I'm in the minority on this one, as I think some of the products that can darken the dash plastic actually improves the look as long as it doesn't leave it "greasy" looking (like it is wet).

My HHR has a pretty cheap plastic look to it and FK's Top Kote makes it look much better than without it IMO.

+1, my car is 8 years old, I've never treated the interior (and I seriously doubt the previous owners did either) and it still looks fine. It sits outside all day too, so that means super hot in the summer and well below freezing in the winter. Just keep things CLEAN, you really don't have to worry about modern car interiors cracking/peeling/fading/whatever.

I would think if you live in a climate such as in the southern states that UV protection would be beneficial from fading out interior trim. I like to use Megs #40 vinyl & rubber cleaner/conditioner. Cleans and leaves good UV protection without greasy or glossy finish.

Meguiar's Natural Shine Interior Vinyl/Rubber Protectant for me. I like 303 for tires/rubber but it has a bit too shine for dashes IMO.
