Which DA? Flex 3401 or Megs G110V2

..seeing the small orbit of the sander against the power of the flex i dont think it will be able to break down any diminishing abrassives polishes for the correct jeweling effect.

Ah, I was thinking the sander was similar to the Porter Cable that many use and if that's not the case then it really might not be suitable (hard to say).



Note that the finer polishes used for jeweling/etc. don't really do much breaking down since the abrasives are so fine to begin with. I generally think that if a polish will work OK by hand then it will also work OK with almost any machine.



Anyhow, I guess my point is that the Flex sometimes has "too much power" (or really, a lot of a certain type of power) for final polishing. But that's sure splitting hairs and I don't want to get people looking for "problems (scare-quotes intentional!) that they don't really have.

The G110 is a lot more user friendly, for me, the Flex (customer had one that I tried out) was even more of a handful initially to control than a rotary.
