Which Crossover/SUV?

Seems like there are lots of choices. Kinda depends on what you think is most important (mileage, reliability, handling, luxury).

Take a look at the Buick Enclave. I know, I know, old people's car. Whatever. Has room to carry at least 6 adults comfortably, 7 with a little friendly touching or 8 with the second row bench seat. 20mpg or so. Very quiet and great ride/handling. Also any of the Lambda bodied/framed GM cars. Acadia (GMC) Traverse (Chev) or Outlook (Saturn)

My last car before the mustang was an Acura MDX, really loved it, beautiful exterior, comfortable inside, no trouble whatsoever. Just a really awesome car overall.

And what American vehicle fits the bill the OP described?

Edge/MKX, Enclave, Vue, SRX would be my top picks out of the American ones. CX9/7 are Mazdas but owned by Ford so...

Forester is the only one with AWD that I'd want to drive through winter.

Our CR-V has been a great vehicle, but the AWD system is slow to engage the rear axle.

I've driven RAV4's and Highlanders which had slightly less annoying AWD systems, but still not ideal.
