Which Collinite Wax (476, 915 or 845) Will NOT Mute Metallic Paint?

The car is my Dad's 2001 Metallic Brown Cadillac Deville.



I did a mild polish with Menzerna Final Polish ( PO85U) and then topped it off with WG Sealant.



Now I need a little help. I bought DP Max Wax- bc i read many reviews that said it was great on metallics.



I will use Max Wax but I also want to use Collinite for durability- Which Collinite will not mute the metallic Paint?



Should I apply the Collinite first and then top with Max Wax?

845 is what you want for flake pop. I'd try it, then if you don't like the look, top it. IMO it looks great on its own.
 
I guess the short/easy answer is 845. Anybody who uses waxes should probably have it on the shelf.



But I find 476S *MUCH* more durable. IME 476S is a little funny on the "muting" thing; I used to think it muted metallics slightly. But after doing a (seemingly unnecessary) repolish on the same vehicles, no such effect at all. Guess my conclusion is that 476S is *very* sensitive to prep in this regard and may cause muting on imperfectly prepped surfaces.



But I myself wouldn't be topping the sealant with anything at all, and I sure wouldn't do *two* wax toppers on something that already had a sealant on it. I'd just use one LSP, and choose the one that gave me the best combo of attributes for that particular application.
 
Thanks Accumulator, Dan and RZJZA80 - Well it's always a tough decision bc there are so many choices today and I like trying new products. There are a total of 5 cars in the family and I occasionally detail a friend's car.



I never used to like paint sealants bc I am a wax guy but I have read great things about some paint sealants such as Opti-Seal, WG Paint Sealant and Blackfire Wet Diamond.



I am a school teacher so all of my detail work gets done during the summer time---I am usually so busy during the school year that i usually just do a wash every few weeks and maybe a wax before winter. I live in NY.



My logic on this detail was: I used WG Sealant bc of reviews that said it was great on metallics. Being a wax guy, I must top it off with a wax. My choice of Collinite is for durability (or added durability now that it has a sealant) and finally DP Max Wax for the POP in the metallic. Then if I have time, I will do one coat of 476s in October or November. Don't care about metallic pop at this time of the year!



(Last summer, I waxed the Caddy with one coat of Collinite 476s and it held up extremely well - almost til May.)



So I am going to try 845 followed by DP Max Wax. And in the fall 476s. Autopia makes one wax/sealant crazy!!!
 
well you are from NY, so a NY wax is a great choice. 845 is easy on & off., but 476 will always be king on my shelf. Flake muting is hard to tell. Depends on when you look at the paint, morning, evening, time of year, angle of sunlight, etc. Most good waxes bring out metal flake. The refraction of light thru a carbon on top of the paint.. Diamond effect.
