Which Chemical Guys products would you guys recommend?

Too keep it in context, I don't mean out of ALL their product line. I'm not looking for any more LSPs or polishing compounds to try at the moment, for example. But for things like detailing sprays, car washes, degreasers and APCs, etc. what specific products do you guys like that seem to work at their respective jobs REALLY WELL?

(and conversely any that you'd say not to bother with?)

I have never used ANY CGs before and their product line looks to be huge and somewhat disorienting to the uninitiated. If I had to pick ONE item from the above mentioned categories as a GOTTA-HAVE-IT kind of item, what would it be?

Thanks!

PS - I'm currently big into Poorboy's, ClearKote and Meguiars products already.

I'll second the Citrus Wash & Gloss. I just received an order from them and I stocked up with 3 gallons of it. :woot2:

I'm very happy with CG Speed Wipe, mostly use it diluted 3:1. I also like Silk Shine interior spray. Citrus Wash and Clear is great too.

I've tried 50-50, Citrus Wash & Gloss, Wet Mirror Glaze, Bare Bones undercarriage dressing and their MF towels - all very good products. I'm hoping to get the Jetseal & Pete's 53 kit for Christmas.

Hmm... so that's several votes so far for Citrus Wash & Gloss.

Do you guys mainly use it in concentrated form to strip previous protection, or as a regular wash at the appropriate dilution that preserves existing protection?

Another question, is their "Extreme Slick Synthetic -Acrylic Polymer Detailer (Anti-Static)" roughly equivalent to FK1-425 by chance?

I have their yellow MF's and CWC. Both are worth it IMO. I might take another trip to LA soon to pick up more stuff from Paul....

^^ The CWClear doesn't have the glossing agents so it won't leave anything on the paint. It also tends to rinse from the surface quicker.

So then, assuming the wash & gloss leaves something on the paint, will it interfere with applying a wax or sealant afterwards?

Yes it possibly could. But I think ONR leaves something on the surface after washing with it... And I haven't heard ONR affecting things yet.

when you say dilute 3: 1 , does it mean 3 parts water to 1 part product, or is it the other way round ? thanks !

CG Wash and Gloss is ment to remove remaining sealants and waxes, if diluted heavily

3 H2O : 1 Product. That's the recommended max dilution for product, and I find it works well for most routine QD tasks. For some things, bugs, bird bombs, etc., I use it undiluted and have been happy with the results.

Well there is a wealth of potential confusion. I had to read this about 8 times. Hopefully I can do a little better. Yes, CGWG can be used to strip LSP's if used at the proper ratio. This is certainly different than saying "if diluted heavily" as dilution will reduce cleaning ability. Despite being strong enough to remove the LSP, it still contains glossing agents which will be left behind. I have never known it to interfere with polishing but as always YMMV. Odds are, an IPA wipedown would be adequate prep for correction if you are truly concerned.
