i use their pads. yellow cutting white polishing and gray finishing :xyxthumbs

I just went to Poper's site...looks like they sell LC pads...are these what you're recommending...from the post it sounded like they have a third choice...did I miss something

Peter...also researching pads...in Denver

I just got some LC pads from properautocare and like them alot. I havent tried the sonus pads, but I'd like to know from someone who has tried both if they are worth the extra $$$.

I just received my new Sonus pads from Autopia, have not had an opportunity to use them yet, but they look to be of very high quality. I like the 5" backing plate (used with 6" counter weight for less vibration), the way the backing plate is recessed into the pad and the fact that the pads are flat, not VC.

Here are some threads where the Sonus and LC pads were discussed:

Both Sonus and LC pads will get the job done nicely, but if the Sonus pads prove durable over time (and I have no reason to think they will not) I'll stick with the Sonus pads for the reasons I listed above.

Good luck with your decision!:)

Can't comment on Sonus but having used Megs and LC, I really like LC. I use them on the PC, rotary and Cyclo :up

Really great pads just all the sizes need to be made available by more online vendors.

lc pads are the same as the cma pads ??

i am not familiar with the lc pads, other than hearing/reading their name on here.

but i was suggesting the pads off of propers site ;)

Hi im going to buy a PC 7336 from Lowes and was wondering which pads i should get. The Sonus kit for $59 http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-daspad-kit.html or the Lake County pads for $39 http://autopia-carcare.com/tps-padkit-da.html

After owning both, I'd say go with the Sonus. They are definitely a step above the LC pads Autopia is offering. There are two reasons I am saying this, #1) The Sonus kit comes with two levels of polishing pad and #2) The velcro backing is all the way to the edges, so you don't have to worry about them ripping.

The blue and green pad vs. just one white pad is very nice because it gives you more versatility.

Not trying to highjack his tread but will the Sonus pads work with a 6" backing plate? They are 7" pads but say "Single 7" foam pad. Fits all 5" Velcro backing plates "

Big casino, Reading your question I tried a 6" backing plate on my Sonus pads and I would not advise trying to use a 6" pad for the following reasons:

1) The pad extends almost up to the edge of velcro backing and will probably eat into the foam as you use the pad

2) When you make full contact between the 6" backing plate and the pad, the backing plate "pulls" the middle of the pad inwards, converting your flat pad into a variable contact pad.

I just doubt if the pad will last too long using it with a 6" backing plate :(

What version of Sonus pads is autopia selling?

I think david calls them Version 2... they have the hook and loop material extending out further than the backing plate to prevent the plate from cutting into the foam as you use them.

I believe he is currently working on version 3.0 but your guess is as good as mine for when it will be released.

ok, trying to follow everything that is being posted here.

i am using the PC and i have the 6in backing plate. and i am using the 6 in pads. is that a bad thing ?? is there an extra counterweight if you move to the 7 in pads ?? those last set of LC pads shown look to have an indentation for the backing plate.

am i on the right track.

also, anyone check out the link i posted for the pads that i am using ?? anyone familiar with these pads ??

The picture I posted is of the current version 2.0 Sonus DAS pads. That is a brand new kit that I just got in this week, and they are designed to be used with a 5" backing plate. The Sonus DAS pad kit comes with the correct backing plate. As far as the counterweight, your original 5" weight should work fine, but try both of them out and decide which one you like better. There are only two counterweights to choose from 5" or 6". I am currently using a 6" counterweight with a 6" backingplate and 7.5" pads.
