Which Auto maker has the best paint job?

:xyxthumbs Thanks for all the feedback. The reason I ask is because I just bought a new Nissan, and whereas I am very happy with overall vehicle, I am less than enthused with the paint. Very brittle, lot's of orange-peel. I guess I was just wondering how much I had to spend to get a good quality paint job.

I mean, do I have to buy a Bentley or a Ferrari to get a decent paint job?

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The BMW's that I used to work on bakc in the late 80's had really nice paint on them, but since then....kind of hit and miss.

BlkonBlk-you could always find a competent shop to wetsand your car and buff it--won't be cheap though. You could also spring for a show quality paint job if you have a spare $5-10,000 laying around!

Yah - I was quoted around 9500 to do the whole car over....the right way.

Just seems ridiculous to have to do that after buying a new car. I have considered the wetsanding route, but I was told that depending on how much of the orange peel was in the color coat versus the clear that I would get carying resuilts.

But thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated as always.

I know many body shops that deal with German paints say Glasurit is a comprable oem finish. The link I just provide is to their website and discusses paintwork defects. Quite interesting actually. Not sure if Glasurit is an OEM for German cars or not, but I have seen several repaints and color changes with Glasurit it looks pretty much the same as the OEM finish.

After seeing the results on 2 different cars now, I would definately ask for it if I needed some body work done.
