Where does AIO fit?

I have been using AIO after claying & before swirl removal to remove any oxidation / buildup on the paint. Then swirl removal in diminishing order & go on to glaze & seal the paint.

Now I'm seeing people using it after swirl removal and I'm wondering if I've been doing it "wrong".:nixweiss

AIO is best used after swirl removal to clean the paint and provide a good base for your last step product. I have seen people use it before swirl removal to remove oxidation but the abrasives in swirl removers will do that anyway so IMO using AIO before swirl removal is a wasted step.

AIO is meant to provide a thin film of acrylic protection (as well as being a cleaner). If you use it before using your swirl removers, then you remove the AIO with the swirl removers and get no benefit from its' protection qualities.

IMHO AIO should be used after the swirl removers, which will remove any residue and leave you with a base for whatever LSP you choose.

AIO is at the name implies and All In One product that does some mild polishing and waxing at the same time. It will remove very minor swirls and hides some with the wax. It's a good product but I find that for long term results it's better to use seperate products for polishing and waxing. But if you want to use and all in one product, the best I've used is Malco Rejuvenator, it's has the polishing strength to remove serious swirling and leaves a wax coating when done. I use it only with my rotary buffer.

You are correct in saying AIO has some protection as well as cleaning ability. People rarely use it for it's protection though. They use it as a cleaner and base for a LSP. It works well under anything I have tried. The protection it leaves behind is not a wax it is a acrylic.
