Where do glazes fit in?

Im not sure I understand the point of glazes (ala RMG, megs #7). Why not just use something like OP with a light pad if you are prepping the pant? Or why not use something like prime if you want a base for your lsp? Why and when is it appropriate to use a straight glaze?
 
a glaze does 2 things: makes the paint look wetter, deeper, glossier and also will fill in light scratches. a glaze goes on before your LSP

Why not use a sealant glaze like prime or AIO for this purpose? When and why is a straight glaze ever better?

Like mentioned, it gives it a wetter deeper look. If you want that extra little pop, then a glaze like RMG or VM will do that before your LSP. :buffing:
 
"Sealant Glaze" is a little bit of a misleading term, neither Prime or AIO contain the type of oils that true glazes have, and they tend to highlight scratches, unlike RMG or Menzerna FTG which fills them in and makes the paint look significantly wetter to boot.
