Where did the Four Star products go?

I'm sure they've been gone longer than I realize, but where did the Four Star products disappear to? I had used UPP in the past with great results, and other than being a bit pricey, I thought these were fairly decent products!

They are great products. Very much still available

Rick & Gary are working hard on R & D. I am sure that they will be back with a vengeance.

These things happen, certain brands dominate the forums for a while then dissappear.

The 4 star UAS wash is bloody super. The leather products are incredible too.

I like the UPP look but I find durability to be lacking, perhaps due to solvents.

Can you further your thoughts on UPP and the usage of solvents? I didn't know upp had solvents for any reason but am anxious to hear thoughts on this.

Only used as carriers. I still find UPP to be my best choice for sealing........Will be using it on a A6 later today, in conjunction with Poliseal and Optimum Compound....It seams I end up going to UPP about 90/95% of the time, for ease of use, looks, and durability....For me, UPP, as a base, UPPS monthly, is my proven winner.

What kind of durability have you been able to achieve with UPP? I've always felt that it's the best looking sealant I've tried, but it always seems to wear off too quickly for my tastes so I've relegated it to mostly garage queen duty.

Thats my findings as well Lee. BUt a once monthly UPPS will prolong it a whole season......

Protection on my DD Solara (not garaged and washed often) seems to wear around the one month mark. I haven't tried UPPS as a booster though - might give that a try when Spring rolls around.

On a side note, I've been really tempted to try 4-54. Is it any more durable than UPP in your experience? How does it compare looks-wise?

It lasts a long time, it's just that the slickness dies

This is where UPPS really helps out.

I really like UPP. I've used it on several cars and had good results. Looks best on light colored cars.

It seems to me like protection is longer than a couple months. Of course, that could be the AIO underneath that's still beading up. I haven't tried UPP without AIO to really be able to attest to it's solo longevity.

Now you got me thinking maybe I should try something else as a longer protecting sealer....

I do really like the slickness of the surface after applying UPP and I love how easy it is to apply and remove.

Maybe their next formula will be longer lasting.

I only have seen two months durability tops on my cars.

I've gotten about three, but durability is not it's strongest point of course - looks, slickness, ease of application and removal are. It can't match Zaino for durability, but if I had the time to apply it every 6-8 weeks or so, it would be my standard LSP (though not on my wife's medium green metallic, where for some reason 1Z Glanz destroys it in everything but slickness -highly recommended!)

I also get about 2 months of appreciable durability (I never wait till all of the protection is gone - can't let the car suffer). As percynjpn stated, UPP provides the looks, slickness (unbeatable IMO), ease of use/removal. Just have to manage your expectations in regards to durability and slickness retention - I don't think it will ever match Zaino or Klasse in duration...slickness falls significantly after 2 washes (probably due to the oils washing away) but the spray sealant works extremely well in restoring both factors. I still think that Paste Glaz and/or UPP are LSP's of choice for silver or light beige/tan colored cars.
