I need 5 or so small ones and a big waffle weave drying towel. I emailed pakshak twice to different emails a few days ago but no response so dont reccomment him. Thanks

I just ordered from PakShak:

Twenty (20) - 16" x 16" micro fiber towels (light blue) and

Two (2) - 25" x 36" waffle weave micro fiber towels (light blue)

Ranney Pak is the man. Try him again.

We'll see how those Autopia WW towels, I just bought, stack up against the new PakShak WW towels. :xyxthumbs

I just got my reply back from ranney. I will be purchasing from him and I will be looking forward to recieving them.

Patience is a good thing. It took Ranney a day or so to email me back with a quote, but im a returning customer, and i know his MF's are in high demand so it was cool to wait. I ordered almost the same as Mmmph, except i got 30 16x16's and same quantity of the WW....

who is this Pakshak.... i'm interested in ordering some MF towels too...Is he or it the best place to get them. and how do i get in contact with Pakshak? Thanks guys

www.pakshak.com or better yet send him a PM. I still think he has an Autopian discount that can only be used via PM orders. Initial contact may be difficult ( not immediate) but after that excellent MF's and customer service.

Another excellent source is MicrofiberTech (www.microfibertech.com). He carries 2 types, Elite ( 225 count) and Ultra (~100 count same as Pakshak's). I find the ultras are all one needs for paint safety and performance. You can also PM Ian (Microfibertech) and ask if he has any discounts in place.

Poorboys and DF Towel also have a terry-type MF's. These are really good for waterless car washes, final buff and as a wash towel. Poorboy's is more versatile because it can be used also for initial buffing of waxes, QD's and sealant. Whereas you will not find a softer or plusher MF than DF Towel's all natural MF.

Do a search. All of these products have been critiqued in the past. :wavey

JT International's information is below--I have made two purchases with Tom and have been very please with his towels and service. Contact Tom and he can email you his current list of products. He also sells on Ebay--go to Ebay Motors and use "micofiber" as the search term. Tom's seller name is Ultramicrofiber. He currently has five 16" towels for $9.99 plus shipping--as well as some larger towels for sale.

I have been using his towels for over a year now and they have held up very well.

blkz28conv, why is it you can't use DF MF towels for initial wax/QD buffing? Do the natural fibers clog easily? TIA

RobD,

Someone made the term "wicking" factor. DF towel can be used for buffing and Qd'ing. They just require more effort to completely remove products - "wicking". The only example I can think of is comparing the usage of a synthetic chamois or Waffle Weave MF with a 100% cotton towel for drying a vehicle. The cotton towel works but requires multiple wipes and wringing to dry an area, whereas an synthetic chamois/WW MF will do the job quick and better and still pose no threat to the finish. The syn chamois/ WW MF wickes up the water and retains it better. No the DF does not become "clogged" it just does not wick very well or as quickly when used to remove waxes/sealant and QD's.

This is not a knock against DF towels just an observation. DF is my primary post-Cali dusting towel and pre-drive wipe down towel (short-term garaged vehicles not requiring Cali). It is that soft, plush and gentle. :xyxthumbs

Actually they can be used very effectively for applyng wax, buffing, and QD buffing. You just need to go slow as they wick slower than cotton but absorb more. It's all in the technique.

I got my first MF towels last year from JT International. Now I need more. I wanted to try Ranney this time just to compare. Both have excellent reputations and products. So, this time I ordered from both. Ranney said he has been swamped with orders so it too ka couple days to ship out my order. Still, he let me know everything and responded quickly to my e-mails.

Tom seems to check e-mail first thing in the morning, and then late at night. Still, 12h is the longest I have waited for a response.

I have always had great service and quality from Ranney at Pakshak. I intend to use him exclusively, and his discount is a plus;) .

Haven't tried Ranney's terry towels, but the quality of his WW's are superior to JT's. I like JT's terry's and will probably continue to buy from him. But Ranney's WW are thicker, softer, and larger, for only $1 more per towel.
