There are several reasons. CharlesW left due to some verbal exchanges. Some left or significantly reduced posting after Poorboy's no longer had a sponsorship. Tuscarara Dave is posting more on AGO.

I have noticed this as well. When I first joined many of these "old" names were active and helpful. Over time they simply dropped off or decided to move on. As Al said some were Poorboys loyal and moved when they were no longer the head sponsor here. But in the past year or so I have also noticed many new comers that have become regulars as well. I think it is really just the nature of detailing and the detailing forums. You get into it and really dig in and learn what you want. After that most seem to walk away being happy with what they know and have. Or they simply get burnt out and need some time away.

Others of us want to continue learning and really love detailing. I personaly have even had to find a happy medium where I am on the forums but still detail and have life "offline".

I didn't make the list..... :( But I'm back! lol

I was away after the change for no good reason. Also was doing a lot of Dealer work and had no time to get online. Let alone do any proper detailing. But, since the Dealer canned me, I'm back at it learning a lot all over again. :)

I agree. I know from time to time I will take a break from forums. I think life can be busy and you have to take time from other areas to catch up. I think a lot of people get burnt out and some tend to get turned off by some of the other members and avoid for that reason.

I think some of those people made this forum a better place with their knowledge and posts. It would be nice to see some of them come back from time to time

Things change, people change, interests change and some just get forum burnout.......

OH, but I'm here!! :D

I guess I didn't make the list either!:lol2: No one even missed me I guess. Since I am just an amateur I don't have much for input and the other fact is that it is cold as a... here and nothing to report. Been spending my forum time on Camaro5 but talk about a bunch of hardcore nit pickers and just about had enough there. Been there to find tips on upgrades for my car but being ridiculed and picked apart for input is getting old fast. Nothing like the awesome group here!

Later,
Dean.

I still troll the forum as well, but rarely have much to add. I found myself being very burned out on detailing, and went back to doing body work for a while. One day I may get back into it like I once was, but for now Im enjoying the change of pace.

I went through those who had visited my profile or what ever its called, then tracked to others that I remembered from years ago, and thats how I came up with that list. I still remember the first night I was in the chat room Tex Star and CWCAD were talkink about one of there daughters cars that was in Minnesota I think. That was in 2006 or 2007. Cant remember yesterday but I can remember that.

What I do know is before I knew it I was a member of too many detailing forums. I'd get an email from one member asking me to join a forum because so and so was there. Before I knew it I was trying to keep up with a half dozen forums and most of the faces were the same...

I basically hang here or on Autogeek.....

One name you mentioned was Flash Gordon. I looked on the members list here and over on Autogeek and don't even see him listed anymore......typically not a good sign.....:passout:

Don't feel bad. I didn't make the list and I use to run this place. :D

It was burnout for me in the beginning and a career change. I forced myself to take a break from the forums and after that just got too busy to come back. Now I pop in just to keep up on the latest and greatest and to see who is still around.

Good to see you on here again. By the way, I feel your pain with the dealership issue. I went through the same thing 15 years ago. :)

Troy!!!!!!!!!! Good to see ya bud! How's life treating you these days?

Life's been good. Going through the teenage years with my two daughters so I am working on my patience and tolerance levels these days. :)

Been dividing my time between three different ventures and things are starting to look good in all three.

Ah...the teenage years. I'm not ready for that yet.
Good to hear about the positive on your ventures.....wish I had some luck these days!
