When You Have That Feeling

when your about get scam, once in awhile I get emails or texts to detail these Cadillac SUV's  from out of state. Even tho I do business with people from out of state, there's a few my gut tells me there's something odd. I even get calls from deaf people that use some of type of machine to talk to me that puts up red flags.

lol, just say no, simple!

deliver it with XXXX in the glove box.

The whole "ill ship the car to you, you detail it, and then Ill pay via credit card after you ship it back to me" scam has been around a while now...

what about charging 10K, sitting on the car for a month AFTER the charges clear and can no longer be recouped.  At which time you will then detail the car and return it???

The TTD method, which is the machine that deaf people use to talk on the phone is nothing new for scammers. I can pretty much say that 100% of the time it's gonna be a scam. What I've learned in this biz is that if it ain't a straight shot then it's gonna be scam or a PITA.

I have had 2 of those Cadillac emails asking for info and pay with CC, ect. over the last week.

It's not even worth replying calling them out. Just erase and move on.

I am usually pretty quick to spot a scam but just recently got the tow truck one but was curious how it all worked so played along. In the end I gave them the local police station to ship the car to and they replied with 2 seperate credit card numbers that they wanted me to charge the funds to, something like 1000 to one for my work and 2000 to the other one to wire to them wastern union style.

Think its safe to assume they were both stolen cards and needed me to process them, damn scammers you would think people could just go out and get a job, feel sorry for the people that do get tricked into it tho.
