When to use IPA solution?

I haven't done wax removal on a car yet and was wondering when in my detailing process do I use the IPA wipedown? Is it best after I clay, since polishing with current wax on can make a mess?

I was wondering when it fits in so that I can remove the wax that is already on the car prior to polishing.

N/M I'll do the IPA wipedown after I wash to remove some of the wax and clay the car to remove the rest.

Any type of abrasive polishing will remove any wax. If it's gonna remove clearcoat to get rid of swirls you bet your sweet PC that it's gonna take the wax off too!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my customer only wants non-abrasive polish (Prime) for his car.

Prime still cleans/polishes and will remove any wax that is currently on the car.

If you definitely want to use IPA, I would wash, clay (if necessary), then do the wipedown. I use IPA a lot because I like trying out different waxes, sealants on my car.
