Wheel well detail stuff

i personly use P21S gell wheel cleaner. This stuff is amazing, a little costly but wll worth it. Does an awsome job of cleaning and dosent hurt the wheels

edit: to srub the dirt off i use the sponge the cleaner came with, it seams to work really well

All-purpose cleaner (usually diluted), soap, brushes, and mitts. When clean and dry, I spray them with a water-based dressing.

Just curious as to what u guys use to get those wheel wells so clean and shiny, thanks alot

Wes

Couple of things I use an all purpose cleaner APC from Costco or a janitorial supply were ever I can find it cheap...spray on and let set for a few minutes, then a long brush to agitate then wash off....some times I use an old mitt to reach in and rub the area if that is necessary...on my cars I clean the wells once a week with the wash and they come clean with little trouble......if they are real bad I use the pressure washer but that's for extreme use only.

Car wash soap and a brush to clean. Never needs anything stronger. I dress them with Stoners Trim Shine. This stuff is great for wells. No need for an applicator or buffing just spray and walk away. Dries hard and even for me.

This depends on how bad they are some require more cut than others...mine are a soap and water clean now but they are cleaned once a week.

I meant mine don't require anything stronger than soap and water. They are cleaned at least once a week like yours are.

I to use the soap I wash the truck with. When doing wheels I use a brush and scrub the wheel well and do tires after rinsing the wheel well and then tire. I then spray CG Blue Guard 2 liberly in the wheels. Frame rails and shock towers look new and dressed. The dressing last thu rain and wash They look good for a couple weeks. Use a cheap MF towel to wipe plastic off a little and rest to set.

What did you use on your tires in that picture?

Eagle One Wet. For shows I'll detail the whole tread once the car is parked. I think having brand new looking tires on top of having polished paint adds to the overall appearance of the car. "Right off the showroom floor" is the look I try to go for.

Definitely. What's your preferred method of application to the tread? Tire swipe, etc.?

Tire swipe is my prefered applicator. Eagle One has a good one that doesn't fall apart as easily, but you can get three for a dollar at the dollar store. They fall apart after a few uses, but they are inexpensive. My only recomendation is that you use a rubber glove when you apply the stuff. It takes forever to get your fingernails clean if you don't have a glove on.

Do find that the Eagle One dressing browns your tires at all?

I scrub the wells with a brush and the car soap solution I'm using to wash the car. Then I spray the wells with Stoner's More Shine Less Time. Works like a charm providing you do the wheels, tires, wells, first, which I do. If you do it last the silicone can fisheye the paint you've worked so hard to make perfect if it's breezy. :wall

It wipes right off but why do yet another step?

Yeah, I've been using tire swipes for several years, but I've only dressed the full tread one time.

I have never had a problem with it doing that. I find that it keeps the tires looking black for at least two weeks if I wanted to wait that long. It doesn't sling if you apply it to dry tires. Out of the tire dressings that I have used, I like this one the best.

I wash with APC of diluted degreaser. Dress with armor-all (cut 1:1) or Megs Hyper Dressing cut (1:1 or 2:1) Armorall is cheap and I ONLY use it on Wells

Eagle One dressing in the can is as hard to find as CD2. I see they have a EO in a spray bottle, is it the same dressing ?
