Wheel weight adhesive

Had new tires put on the harley and the tech did nothing to remove the residue left from removing the old wheel weights. These wheels are the stock nine spoke wheels with bare aluminum sides. My question is what to use to get this stuff off with minimum chance of etching the aluminum finish?:think2

I have used brake cleaner in a towel in the past, but that was on a painted wheel. Maybe rubbing alcohol or goof off or laquer thinner or wd-40.

If goof off doesn't work you could use simichrome or a similar metal polish with a microfiber towel; I don't think this would hurt the finish at all.

I'd use 3K Adhesive Remover. To affect a long dwell-time, I'd probably soak a cloth with it and find some way to hold said cloth in contact with the adhesive residue for a while (not just a few minutes either).
