wheel sealants...are they worth it?

PB's wheel sealant is excellent and can be used on plastics, exterior trim and glass.

I have used PB EXP with great results on a 2004 Subaru STI WRX and Klasse SG x 3 but for ease of use, PB's wheel sealant wins out

What I do is use sonus ultra fine clay when necessary and always use a paint QD such as Clearkote QS combined with DP final gloss booster, DP spray sealant or 1Z raindance to keep the protectant level topped up

I will begin testing collinite marque de elegance on the wheels soon.

You can still put waxes over sealants on wheels.

It's time for me to put another coat of WS on them however.

When I do a complete wheel detailing process, I wash them and follow with P21s polishing soap, AIO and VM before applying Wheel sealant

3M IHG can be used instead of VM if you want.

I just did a little comparison between PB's Wheel Sealant and Klasse SG, which I've been using for some time now. The SG definitely retained more brake dust than the PB's. Looks like SG will be going on the shelf.

I just applied one coat to the new H2 chrome rims. Looks real nice. Is one coat enough or do you guys usually apply several coats?

I put one coat on my wheels about three weeks ago and it seems to be holding up just fine. I'm not sure if you can really layer this product because of the cleaning ability it possesses.

I didn't know that PB had cleaning ability?

How would the PB Wheel Sealant hold up to the PB Wheel Cleaner I have come to love? Would I be needing to reapply the Sealant after every use of the Wheel Cleaner?

Thanks.

Hi Dave

Have not tried the DP glaze, does it have cleaners in it

I have had good success with the PB sealant, Klasse, UPP and even FMJ

I do not use any wheel cleaners, instead, shampoo with the same wash to that I use on the paint

After washing & drying, I use a QD instead of window cleaner to shine the wheels up, usually its clearkote quik shine and DP final gloss booster as I have up to 16 litres of QS and gallon of DP.
