Wheel Sealant Test

Check out the shine on my FX wheels, and the finish is slick as anything

Product was a breeze to use and smells great as well
 
Is that the Poorboy's Wheel Sealant? I really like it a lot...it brings out the flake in my wheels so well.
 
In comparison to sealing my own wheels, I dont particularly see an improvement over AIO which I have found to be a great product for wheels and from experience is durable. I dont particularly want to add another "specialist" product to my aresnal, particularly when I cant see a huge benifit for the $ it will cost me.

But hey, your rims look sweet and I hope that the product is all you want it to be! :)
 
I was lazy the other day after bringing my car back to base with AIO and the UPP so when it came time to do the tires I just did one with the PB WS I got Justifing this with let's see how it holds up to the AIO-SG i have on the others..

I think it looked better the the old combo just more sparkle.
 
I used to use AIO on my wheels too, but find PB's sealer is superior. It's MUCH easier to clean off the brake dust. Maybe weather conditions play a part....

I honestly cant see how it would be "MUCH" easier to wipe off brake dust compared to AIO. Chennille mitt and QEW weekly is pretty darn easy to me.....the only way it could be described as "MUCH" easier was if the wheels were self cleaning. I wait for the day :p

Not to be a negative nelly, but I just cant see how the PB wheel sealant is some super product that it is being portrayed as. Unless you go track racing in your car, the rims themselves do not get overly hot - no more than dark paint in a hot sun. So why would a dedicated "wheel sealant" be any superior to any sealant that you use on your paint?
 
What makes the PB Wheel Sealant any different than the numerous sealants on the market today? Is there something in it specific to wheels? Is it just a sealant marketed as a wheel sealant? If there is nothing specific in it for wheels than it's just another sealant. If it's so durable why not use it on your whole car like you would UPP or SG?

that's why we do testing before releasing a product...
I always tell people if you are happy with the products or methods you are using, please continue to use them.

You ever see a brake rotor get red hot on a road track? The wheels see MUCH more heat than your paint does. Those glowing rotors transfer the heat through your lugs, to the wheels in no time.

I just bought a new Impreza and I now have 4 wheel disc brakes. The brake dust gets caked on to the point that just your weekly washing is even a pain to get the dust off. I am hoping that this product helps with this problem.

Now THAT is my kind of answer. :bigups I've got to hand it to you Steve... I've known a lot of product vendors in my day and you are one of the very very very very few who has ever said something like that. Dwayne is the other one who has said it before. I agree 100%. If what you are using works, then don't change. There is no 'best' product. There is only what works best for you and your particular application. What kind of test was performed here? Where are the details? All I see are two wheels that look clean. I don't see before or after pictures or comparison information at all. All I get is that the product makes wheels slick, its easy to use, and it smells good. Is there anything else that you can share with us that will explain why you chose it? If you are going to review a product, please make sure you include the review with your post. :lol

I will report back in periodically to report on the durability of this product.

All you see are two wheels that look clean ?? Hey man it took me 2 minutes to get them to look that clean. They were really dirty before I started but the next thing I new I was finished.

So far, it seems like some are quite happy to stay with what they are using, "If it Ain't broke, don't fix it". Is that why everyone stopped using KIT and Simoniz ?
 
Sometimes people feel frisky and want to try new things. I'm against commiting your life to one product and so are many people. The mentality of "what I use is the best and it will never cease to be so" really annoys me. There are fanz of zertian productz that really pizz me off when they talk like that.

Two clean wheels doesn't tell me how dirty they were before. To really respect a product you need to see a before and after. Those wheels might not have even been that dirty before. Or they could have been covered with brake dust. We'll never know because we don't have the before shots. ;) All I'm saying is show some before shots so we can see what the product is capable of. :bigups
 
My Bad, I should have taken a before pic.

The wheels were not that dirty but were thoroughly cleaned prior to using the wheel sealer.

No way to get a before pic now, but I will wait a week or two and take some pics, Then see how easy they are to get looking like the pics I originally posted. By then there is sure to be a lot of dirt/grime/salt and brake dust on them (or maybe not)
 
would you like to clean my rims every week?

2 minutes...I take 30-45 minutes to throughly clean mine =p.
