Wheel Sealant Follow UP

Opti-Coat was my choice and that of most respondents for sealing new wheels. UPS dropped off new HRE's with Michelin Super Sport mounted yesterday. Got to it first thing this AM.

Pretty clean but with the expected black rubber marks and sealant residue from mounting, no scratches, small amounts of dust from cutting of wheels in lug bolt holes.

Adhesive cleans right up with Griots Rubber Prep

Wipe down surface with ONR to clean and remove all black rubber marks, etc.

Wipe down with Eraser to prep for Opti-Coat

Final check with light before sealing, make sure you have everything looking the way you want.

Applied Opti-Coat with Car Pro Suede Microfiber (4x4 inches) very smooth application and easy to use in small areas. Ten to a pack so used fresh one on each wheel.

Final results, thanks to all for the recommendations.

Awesome! What kind of car are these going on?

Brand new 2012 Audi S5 coupe V8, wheels, suspension (drop) and exhaust go on next week. Did small stuff this week like air filter and changed all twelve interior lights to LED (knuckle buster) as well as the two rear license plate lights.

Not to sound paranoid, but "I" would blue tape the whole car if the vehicle is going in to a tuning shop.

Nice car btw.

No tuner shop run by twenty something year old for me. Use old school Porsche shop run by fifty something year old that I have know for many years. Laughing thinking what he would say if I taped up the car. Now I will not be able to sleep, lol, thanks Thomas.

Wow! Those are low profile tires mounted on those awesome wheel rims. Don't go over any railroad tracks. ^_^

Pictures bit misleading sidewall is 3.12 vs stock 3.50, my rule of thumb is >3inches and pray, lol.

Heh heh, yeah...I didn't want to jinx 72offsuit by pointing that out. I've been lucky with the 35-series tires on my S8, but my wife and I have both bent rims even with 50-series tires and it's not like we're careless with regard to potholes/etc.
