Wheel Cleaners and existing protectant?

Do most wheel cleaners remove the protectants that we put on them? ie, AIO or a sealant. I only ask for some of the stronger washes like Eagle One A2Z are very strong as are acid washes. Just curious. Also when we see the wheels that we have cleaned and appear to have baked on or permanent brake dust what do y'all use to clean them.

Yes, much of your sealant will strip with an agressive cleaner like AIO or especially an acid or heavy degreaser.
 
if u clayed and polished the wheels prior to the wheel sealant u should not need anything more than soapy water and a good hose gun.

as for tires id recommend getting a good spray bottle that wills pray a good even spray without getting none on the wheels .
 
Ok thanks, I think I need to be more clear, say the protectant on the wheels is a sealant or AIO, will Eagle One A2Z or Acid wash, or TOL wheel cleaners remove the layer of protection I have put on them?

There is more than a good chance for that protection to be gone after using a strong cleaner. If you did a good job of cleaning the wheels before you sealed them (as joy said) then there is no point to use a strong cleaner. Just wash them weekly with a soapy wash mit and you'll be fine. If they do get breakdust on them that won't come off, pull out the cleaner and then reseal afterwards.
 
A strong wheel cleaner will definetly strip whatever you have on there, whatever you wash the car with should be enough to get the dust off.
