Meg wheel bright ??? Doing a charity quick detail at work and have 14 cars lined up..

A few cars are clean but others are pretty bad

game plan is to foam with Meg hyper wash, bucket wash, leaf blower dry, spray wax duragloss aquawax and dress the tires

I want to use meg wheel bright 4/1 - but it says not to use un anodized wheels no one has these or unfinished aluminum wheels - pretty sure ALL the cars have factory rims / hub caps BUT I am concerned with a Porsche cayenne and a BMW 5

Should I be worried about using wheel bright?

Bass, do you have access to any other wheel cleaner? Will people be standing around watching you work?

Well, for one it contains two dangerous acids: HF and ABF. Yea I know nobody here has had an issue, but there are are scientific studies that show this stuff CAN be dangerous. Even though you are doing a charity event, are you insured in the case something goes wrong? Just some things to keep in mind.

As the two above posts touch on, I too would be concerned with the chemical make up (acid) of WB when used in what may be an inappropriate work area...

Wind blowing, with people standing near by with insufficient protection (masks/gloves/eye protection etc) and HF acid is a bad combo!

Thanks for the advise..

no one will be watching as this is being done in that back lot of the office and folks are just going pull their cars around and go back in the office

and nope no insurance as detailing is just a hobby

the only other stuff i have on hand is EO cleaner for chome wheels and a gallong of Meg apc +

Meg's Wheel BrightENER is formulated for really tough grime. Try the EO first, and step up when necessary.

You DON'T want to touch WB with bare hands. Read about the danger of HF and ABF acids first; very important.

what charity is it for?

WB is great if used properly. I find that if the wheels have baked on brake dust it sometimes is the most effective way to get most of it off. Though i have never used it full strength i usually run it at 5:1 and it still has great cleaning power.

Just be careful when using it is all.

at work they are doing a american cancer society relay walk over the weekend and they didn't get a whole lot of donations - i don't walk ;) but i clean cars - got 14 cars signed up at $15.00 each in 20 minutes :)

i might just use apc+ full strength as most of the cars i am doing have hub caps
