whatseveryone think about Mr.Clean auto dry? i used to use it all the time until i found this site, not i use the standard 2 bucket method with blot drying.i was thinking autodry might be good to spary the car down with the soapy mix, then use 2 bucket method for the washing then rinse it off with the auto dry for the spot free dry. whats everyone think? good idea, any autopians use autodry?
 
my gf got me one for my birthday and i've used it a few times and liked it actually. it does what it says. i'll admit i did'nt just let it dry by itself, but where it did get a chance to dry on it's own there were no water spots. i personally like to use the absorber or mf towel to dry my car and then afterwards blow all the water out of the nooks and crannys with my blo and vac. the method you want to use it for sounds good to me but i'm just one. let's hear from some other members.
 
Someone told me that it leaves some sort of invisible bad bad residue on the car...? I am not sure what I think, I used to like it but now I havnt used it since he told me that. Anyone else confirm this?
 
Yeah if you don't rinse the well enough there is some residue left on the paint, in my case it was more noticeable on the glass. Plus I could never seem to rinse the soap completely off the wash mitt and it leaves your hands a little sticky if you let it dry on them. I stopped using the soap because I hated it and I read somewhere that it was a little harsh on your LSP. I wasn't waxing my car at the time so I can't vouch for that. Then I tried just using the water filter to do a final rinsing but there is little water pressure in this mode, it feels like your painting the car, so the water would just bead instead of sheeting off the surface. Plus the filters are kind of expensive and only last a handful of washes. So then I just stopped using it altogether. FWIW it does do what it claims to though provided you rinse the car properly. The first few times I used it my car was left clean and spot free without me having to use a towel. My dad still uses it because it very convenient for him.
 
I really like the Mr. Clean for when I want to get my Jeep clean, but don't have the time to do a full detail with it. I use multiple mitts when using it though as the two bucket method is less effective IMO.
 
The water is hard where I live so it is almost pointless to "let it dry" without having to wipe the whole car down anyway. I does leave a powder like residue, almost like dust if you run your finger on the paint when it dries. I know people who use it where the water is not so hard and it works great. The soap gets used up fast and so does the filter. I would recommend it if your water is not too hard.
 
I've put NXT in mine (had it since they came out) use it just for a quick rinse before I really wash it!
 
I think it is fine for casual users. I still use it for a final rinse only. I don't use their soap. I put it only afer rinsing the soap off, and give the car a good rinse with Mr. Clean to displace the faucet water with deionized water. I especially spray it well around the mirrors, door handles, cracks and crevices so any water dripping after drying will not spot.
