Everyone has their own preference when drying a vehicle. I prefer using a chamois for drying and I have heard microfiber towels are better. Are microfiber towels better for drying a vehicle? Whats do you prefer to use? :hmmm:

You are going to get all kinds of answers for this one..I like MF waffle weave for drying cars...

Lol I figured I might. My sis asked me this question yesterday. Thought I 'd throw it out there see how many different responses i get. I'm just starting out on autos and I like to keep an open mind about everything. Oh! btw beemer thanks for the advice on the hearse! The mortuary dude said he would start using me after the first of the year! Thanks Again! :bigups

Or you can just buy them like Dave does! :D j/k

I blow the car off with a leaf blower and then use a WW towel to finish up.

Microfiber towels seem to be my preference.
Waffle Weave or terry either one. Pretty much a matter of which I happen to grab onto first.

I either:
Use the leaf blower then follow up with an mf, or
Use an Absorber then follow up with a leaf blower, or
Use a big MF then follow up with a small WW mf, or
etc, etc, etc.
How I dry the vehicle really depends on the totality of the circumstances at that particular time. I don't really have a set way to do it.

Yesterdays clean up I used the ceiling fan on high while I went to the Dairy Queen for a burger, the decided to give PBs Spray and Gloss a try along with 2 plush microfiber towels. This IS what Im going to use when just doing a wash and dry. Thanks to all who have mentioned using this product in this way and to Steve at Poorboys World for such a product.

My favorite MF towels for drying is a ww foam core towel. I got mine from SMP. I have given many of them away but for some reason they did not seem to catch on with anyone but me.

I like my wf with dual core. I have one from Mothers (made by Schroeder and Tremayne). It is a dual sided waffle weave with a foam core interior. AG now sells one like it.

I like it because it maintains its shape even when wet (the foam core adds stability) so it will not drag on the ground as easily. I had been using with a traditional wash and regular drying towels with ONR but I tried it again last two times on a whim and it works nicely. I think I am going to get another one.

I'm a microfiber man myself. I used to use chamois and Absorbers, but I think the MF towels are a step up on the evolutionary chain of the drying apparatus genus.

For smaller vehicles, I typically use microfiber towels (either WW or the large Microtex towels with terry/suede weave). For larger vehicles, those with larger expanses of horizontal surfaces I use a combination of an Absorber and a smaller MF (terry weave or waffle weave).

It has long been my experience that MF is inferior (for water absorbtion) to the synthetic chamois materials once saturated.
