So ive been outa the game for a while since 2009. Had a kid then another one so no much time to detail. My vehicles are in need of some care. Ive been reaading up on the HD stuff and decided to go with the UNO POXY combo. What are the hot pads to use these days? I was using the 4 inch LC pads 3 yrs ago but its time to update, i use the pc 7424. I see HD has some pads, are they any good? What size should i use? I will be polishing a 2011 f 150 supercrew and a 2006 pacifica. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I find myself reaching for the buff and shine 5.5" Orange pads more than anything else. Good cut and fantastic finish on most paints.

I have never tried the hd pads, but I will be placing an order soon.

I haven't had a chance to try Uno yet so I can't speak for that specifically. 4" pads will slow you down a bit on the large panels of those vehicles. I prefer 5.5" pads. I tend to reach for LC orange first unless I know I am working with soft or thin paint. I like how it cuts and finishes with a lot of different products. From there I adjust for more/less cut if necessary. The Hydrotech pads and MF pads are great too.

I really like the Hex-Logic pads, however, I have been using the Megs MF pads for cutting more and more...they work great with 105/205 as well as OC Hyper Compound. I generally go to the Hex-Logics on softer paint.

Can you get any cutting from a microfiber pad?

Absolutely (at least when paired with the right product). Not sure about how they work with uno, but I've read that other people have had good results with it.

MF pads are the **** with D300!!!! great cut, just a bit under 105 and orange, but a much better finish!

my go to would have to be LC hydro tangerine...use it with 105 and get good cut and some easy to remove marring, or use it with a mid level polish like menzerna 203 and get decent cut and a good finish, I would still opt for 85rd and a black pad to finish, but if time is an issue, which it sounds like it is, then a one step would be ideal, and thats my go to one step combo

MF pads for sure. The Megs and Opt ones are both good. They work great with every product I've tried them with, D300, 105, UNO, SIP, PF...

I'm one of those people who've done well with Uno and a (Meguiar's) MF cutting pad. Worked very well on Audi clear, despite not being quite as aggressive as some other (M105-based) approaches I've used. Very user-friendly, so much so that I didn't miss the additional aggressiveness.
