What's Your Favorite Tire Dressing?

OPT Tire dressing. Nice matte sheen.

Despite searching and finidng various results, I started this thread to try and get the most opinions in location.

I would really like to start a poll, but didn't see the option when starting this thread.

I have tried countless tire dressings and always find I can't settle on one.

What is your go to tire dressing?

Thanks,

Jeff

Zaino was my favorite for a long, long time. I tried some CG Extreme Tire Shine (has a little shine...and last forever), and now I'm hooked. It's not water based though.

Wow,

Definitely some great input in this thread. It looks like Z-16 is still holding its position as a favorable choice followed by Opti-bond and rising Mothers FX Tire Shine.

I love tire dressing and ease of use definitely plays a big role when applying it to a customers vehicle.

Ardex No-Sling has been my go to dressing for vehicles that do not receive paint correction. I dilute it 2:1 and always buff the tires after application.

Some tires have a lot of ridges and for that reason I do not like to use a gel in this particular case. I have been using Ardex Bumper Black, which is a gel and when buffed off leaves a nice satin finish.

....of the products I have tried from Zaino I never used Z-16 but I do like DG 253. It's my current favorite until I find something else better. ....not that I'm looking really hard though.

I'm guessing the Durabloss is cheaper, right?

"Just like" it, huh... One of these days I really *will* finish off that case of Z16 and I oughta have a plan.

One of the reasons I prefer Mother's FX, you can be very careless in application and it evens out very nicely, even on tires with the ridges. It almost seems to crawl like a penetrating oil.

That has been my concern with a few heavier dressings [i.e. Adam's SVRT, OB undiluted] and why I tend to gravitate towards Megs Hyperdressing on tires that have very detailed sidewalls. I can mist it on the tire, let it "crawl" for a few minutes, go back and wipe the tire down once it has stopped filling the ridges. And it is the consistency of water, so it provides an even coat.

Opti-Bond disappointed me at first. It looked AWESOME on some trim pieces that I tested it on. For some reason, the tires on my Formula just don't look good with anything on it. I have deep cleaned them with Eagle Wheel and Tire cleaner, and hit them with Purple Power as well. I have no idea what the deal is. Same thing with my Mom's HHR. The tires I detailed on her car looked killer at first, but the shine didn't seem to last long. I scrubbed the tires big time. They were not very old,but they were filthy. I think they must have been in the warehouse for quite some time before my Dad bought them.

I used Opti-Bond it for the first time today on my wife's GTP,and my daily driver HHR. It looks amazing on the tires on them! I'm very impressed now! I had even bought a small bottle of Duragloss 253 to try next because of the disappointment. I know I will like the 253 as well, but I could see Opti-Bond becoming a "go to" dressing now.
