What's your favorite sealant?

I like Menzerna FMJ. I'm always surprised that it's not a more popular product on this board.

The only down side is the price.

Why, I do believe you have answered your own question! :LOLOL

I got a sample and I agree, it is a truly top notch sealant. Got a full 4 months of beading and decent slickness on a white Expidition (applied over AIO) and it probably would have gone longer but the owner's boss (who pays each week to have the Expidition cleaned along with his car) said 4 months is as long as he wants to go. In addition, it is very easy to use. Apply to a section or two, go back and remove.

I need to burn through some other LSPs before it is worth popping for a bottle of FMJ.

Another vote for FMJ... followed w/ HGAS every month or so really extends the time required for reapplication of FMJ. But you hardly use any FMJ... at most 1oz for a vehicle. Not too expensive for something so good. That 16oz will easily last you at least a couple yrs.

fave sealant ? this changes by the month it seems..

at the moment it's been Meg's #21 , UPP, EX-P and z2-pro and if my werkstatt ever arrives, maybe that too :D

It depends on my mood, I guess. I have (3) fav sealants and another one may join the group...

On my magnesium metallic-

Looking for brighter finish - UPC & UPP (and I expect to add UPPS to this combo)

Looking for a warmer finish - AIO & WG, or AIO, EX & Natty's Blue. The route I go here depends on whether I want to mess with a wax or not (not that it's a big deal or anything)

On my wife's dark green-

Always looking for a warm, deep, glossy finish - AIO, EX or WG & Natty's Blue.

I've played around with KSG on the roof of my car and found it easy to apply and remove. Right now it is topped with OCW and that combo is doing an excellent job. So, after I get some UPPS and it warms up, I'll see what this does and maybe add KSG to my fav list.

I like DP's Premium Surface Shield and Spray Surface Shield.

I was pretty suprised how much I like those two products because I had really had no idea what to expect, never having used DP products before. Reminds me very much of UPP-which is a good thing. ;)

forgot to add, i'll probably be saying OCW will be my favourite come next spring. oh gosh will it ever end :nixweiss:

Is this a sealant or a wax? Has anyone tried this over AIO?
Sealant. I've used it over AIO on my silver WRX with no apparent problems. It's my favorite OTC product these days . . . moderate durability, but very easy to use, dries pretty quickly, no smearing on removal, great looks.

Tort

I've used WG, UPP, and SG on my current vehicle. I think I like UPP the best. Incredibly easy to use. I love the wet look it gives, and I'm addicted to the slickness.

somehow though, I always feel a bit more comfortable when I have a coat of SG or two on the car...

I see that there are many products I need to try but UPP seems to show up more than others. So when I see you professional detailers posting on the board, does that mean you don't have any cars to detail today or do you take breaks to read this board ?

After trying many things from these Forums (e.g. WG, UPP, eX-P ... etc.) I am back to Z2pro. After jumping on the try this bandwagen too many times, I am staying here for a while

Used to be UPP, but Z2-Pro edged it out when the looks got a bit deeper/wetter (vs. Z2). Also, Z2 Pro outlasts UPP.

Yup, I love the stuff too :up ...I've never used UPP, but from the description it sound pretty similar, slickness and all...and you were right, SSS really intensifies the look of PSS, and it's an even easier way to add layers.

I noticed a couple of Z2Pro fans. I must say that I'm no fan of Zaino as I've tried multiple attempts with Z5 that have turned out to be nightmares. The first time I used too much product and couldn't get it off so I had to take it off with another product. The next time I used it, i put it on very thinly, almost invisible as instructed, and it was still difficult to remove and left streaks on the hood. Though the product may give great results to some, it apparently does not work for me and I don't know why. I have used other sealants like #21 with no problems at all.

Zaino Z2-PRO and Z5 maintained with Z7 wash, Z6 QD and Z8 spray sealant.

As a matter of fact I place my order for 2006. ZFX, Z8 x 2, Z7 x 2, Z Tire Gloss x 2 and some Z5. :woot:

All for a $9 shipping cost. Very cost effective. :bounce

I have tried a lot of sealants...I really dont think you can beat the looks and protection of AJ for all colours, UPP is very slick and looks amazing but that seems to fade fast, and I love FMJ but feel its a lot better for solid colors...So those are my top three...each being my favorites in different situations.... :xyxthumbs
