What's your favorite 1-stepper?

Believe it or not, I'm a big fan of Menz IP, orange pad, and Flex 3401 for 1-step correction. I have yet to introduce any micro-marring with this method on about 10-12 cars so far. Granted, I could probably get some more correction / gloss with a finishing polisin or a traditional 3-step job, but that's not always in the customer's budget.

Except I use a PC and the orange pad is a 5.5" low profile LC version (that Patrick dislikes)!

This is something I have been wondering recently. Currently at my shop we use Megs Soft-Buff pads (yellow) on a 7424 with DACP before LSP. I think if we switch to LC Orange pads and Menzerna IP we will get better results and the pads will last longer since outs megs pads wear out within just a few uses.

Keep in mind, pretty much NONE of our customers ever ask for more than one step, its actually not in our pricing schedule and we only do it if requested because most customers are elated with 1 step polish.

For those of you that use like xmt360 or poliseal, do you use that on GM paint? GM clear is so hard I cant it doing much of anything. Cleans quiet well but that seems to be about it. I know they dont have much corrective abilities but ive seen it do pretty decent on softer paints.

Bump; and a related thought...

For those that own a rotary and the DA Flex: Do you think you can get more correction out of a 1-stepper with the Flex than the rotary, due to the risk of getting holograms easier w/ the rotary?

I thought 1-step was .......one step. Polish/protectant, all in one step.

Mine is probably One Grands Clean-N-Wax......via a UDM of course, with either a 5.5" White or Orange pad....

Agreed -that's what I thought too...

Hmm, Usually KAIO or ZAIO, but usually I'm a 2 step guy for even the most the simple projects.
