That story has been all over the news here. I think it's even on the front page of the Detroit Free Press' website still. Security video: Child driver, 9, tells cops 'I was driving good,' dad drank whiskey all night | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Chad, I see you listed the Vector W8. After getting to work on one, I have to say, I think it might be the most advanced car for its time of the modern era. That car is absolutely amazing in every way, and the owner of the one we worked on knows every single thing about it. Name any part or screw or bolt, and he can tell you to what specs it was made, what it's made out of, and where it was sourced from. He was one of the original four Vector employees and test drove each car built to its 242mph top speed (rev limited to 242). A few years later, McLaren came out with their famous F1 model - not a single one sold went over 231.
Mind you, the W8 hit 242 on pump gas with the boost at normal levels (7 or so psi) where it was rated around 750hp/650tq. You could run racing fuel and turn the boost up to 14PSI for over 1200hp/1000tq to have even faster acceleration. The entire body to include all the wheel liners is made from carbon kevlar. Some parts were sourced from Lockheed Martin, some came out of the Stealth Fighter (they had to get security clearances dropped to do so), and the windows were made by the same company that designed the canopy of the F16.
You can go on for days being amazed by the car and the technology that went into it.
Those wheels look like they are a pain in the a$$ to clean!!!
If you can afford that car, you can afford someone to spend 4 hours on a wheel.:lol2:
