What's with the "v." in all the click & brag threads???

I see the "v." in many of the thread titles in the click and brag forum lately. I don't get it :nixweiss

This was only going back two pages in the C&B forum:

Latest detailsâ„¢ v.belated Christmas gift

Today's detail v. dirty mats, lots of pics

Recent detailsâ„¢ v.New Detailer's Pride and PB's EX w/carnauba

Latest Two v. BMW& Acura

Recent Details - v. Overcoming Arachnophobia x 2 and a Horse

There was an explanatory post some time back. It is supposed to mean Version ala software where you find "product name vx.x".

Today I see something new, the TradeMark logo. I seriously doubt that "latest details" is trademarked.

Recent Details version Overcoming Arachnophobia x 2 and a Horse still does not make sence to me. But I admit to old age and not being 'hip with the kids'.

I heard someone say "groovy" the other day, now that took me back 30 years.

Think of each "version" as a chapter in a book of someone's life of detailing.

book title = Recent Details

Chapter one: '69 Camaro Z28, $100 Bronco, Durability Updates

Chapter two: 3 Bottles of Wine

Chapter three: Overcoming Arachnophobia x 2 and a Horse

And so on...

Get it now?

i think i noticed scottwax using it first. either other people aren't too creative and can't think up their own, or they think its some sort of standard for a click and brag post.

I think scott TM'd it as a joke in response to the amount of people using it.

I doesn't to me either. I had also thought it stood for "versus" and then since that doesn't make sense, then though t it was extremely short for " view".

I guess what is meant here is that each individual detail job is a different version of the partiuclar person's overall act of detailing.

Though I don't understand it too well, I think it's a great idea for formatting click & brag threads. It makes the threads easier to get a grasp of so you can see what actually is inside.

V. = version

When I put "Overcoming..." it was to see if anyone looked further into it. Arachnaphobia is the fear of spiders and I had 2 vehicles with horrendous spider web swirls...get it now? I'll be more elementary next time.

I don't think anyone had a misunderstanding of "arachnophobia" . They were just wondering about v./ version.

Exactly. I stole it from OT.com since it has been in wide use there for a long time. Geek-wire humor. You know, like when UBB or VB update their software and it goes from v2.1 to v2.3, just their way of letting you know you have the most recent version.

hmm, I read every post and I kind of understand now, still don't know what it has to do with detailing lol, but carry on!

Nothing to do with detailing, everything to do with the internet and since this is an internet board, we do as internet people do. ;)
