What's the Toughest protection against swirl marks?

Using quartz based *glass* coatings hold up quite well, beacuse they are as hard as the dust particles (MOHS 7)..

Hmm...never even *thought* of that! Leave it to you to come up with such an idea :D

[Bence knows that last bit was a compliment ;) ]

.. I'd include another heavy carnauba (multi-layered), the Meguiar's #16, or alternatively Finish Kare's 1000P Hi-Temp paste wax, which is technically rather a sealant.

Ah, I forgot about #16 still being available outside the US! Doesn't quite protect like the Collinite, but it sure is great stuff. I need to try my sample of the FK1000P some time...

Whatever I select I would be purchasing in US only and then getting it here through some one travelling from there. So that's not a constraint.

They need to be applied in a very clean environment. Gtechniq C1 and G'zox Armor GlazCoat works great, but I have only the former.

This looks like the solution I was looking for:D

Bence can you tell me some more about these products - pros / cons, etc.

Will they reduce/delay the chances of getting swirl marks again?

Wash with ONR, Ultima Wash, Perlz, or some other such.

Clay with Clay Magic and ONR as lube.

Menzerna SIP Orange (1 clean pad per panel) any machine

Menzerna106FF White (1 clean pad per panel) any machine

Ultima PPP White (1 clean pad every other panel)

4X - Ultima PGP or Collinite as LSP

Glare is not all that durable.

PGP does not hide swirls. It may amplify them. It is important to prep well before using it. Make good use of a halogen light during prep.

Finally wash carefully as it gets dirty in the future.

You have a white car right? How does this system treat you?

I have a moonlight pearl Lexus LS430. The above system keeps it looking better than a brand new show room LS460. My wife and I had the opportunity to do a direct comparison last weekend at our dealership. Our 2005 with 45,000 miles on it looked better than a new LS.

Further the Ultima PGP has proven very very durable.

I am 100% pleased. All of the above products have been great to me.

Exceptions...

I have not used Clay Magic. I used this example due to its extreme popularity. I use Pinnacle or Adams clay and have been very pleased with the results of both.

I have not used Collinite though I have associates that do and I have seen the results. Seems durable but I have always found it to look kind of flat. Also it takes alot more work than the UPGP does.

Make sure you have plenty of MF towels.

I applied four seperate coats of UPGP a good twelve hours apart. After the fourth coat cured for twelve hours, I hand buffed the resulting finish with a big, thick, soft, clean MF towel. I acheived stunning results.

If you want a complete rundown, PM me and I will elaborate.

Hey Bence, Where can I buy Gtechniq P1 and C1 from?

Interesting website. How does their "nonabrasive" polish remove marring?

Note that I'm not flaming the stuff...when Bence & Porta like something I pay attention.

As they are hard as rock, I mean quartz, they will reduce the likeliness of getting swirl marks, especially when you learn how to wash without scratching.

Cons are: they are very expensive, and they must be applied strictly in a controlled environment. These products harden if left unattended and can cause a big trouble. They can be stored in glass containers only.

Read a lot on Gtechniq's site and watch the videos carefully. You may click on glazcoat.com too, but this not as informative, however, better than Google's translated Japanese G'zox pages...

:D

Been through the Gtechniq site, but they don;t talk anything about the retails sales or price? Can you please tell me what are approx prices, how often it is to be applied and where can I buy this from?

I could not find any unbiased reviews on this product. Can you please post one (apparently Bence and Porta have used it) or provide a link to the same... (I don;t want to depend on their website testimonials).

Also how does it handle stone Chips? Since it is hard, does it crack?

I PM you the contact info.

Bence, I'm interested in these products as well. In particular, as st7677 asked, do you know of any independent reviews? And, as Accumulator asked, how do you correct marring with a product which doesn't have fillers and is not abrasive  They also make some pretty controversial claims/accusations on their website regarding "conventional" compounds/polishes!
