Whats the theory behind waiting 24hours between sealant and wax topper?

Interested if their is a technical/scientific reason behind the recommendations to allow the sealant to sit for 24 hours before applying a wax topper.

Is there a cure time associated with sealants that applying wax will interfere with?

Yes, I believe synthetic sealants need to "cure" and topping with something will inhibit the curing. The resins or polymers need to fully cure to be most effective. (I am not a chemist, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ... :think2 )

I believe pure carnauba waxes don't cure, just the carrier solvents need to evaporate.

The solvents in a LSP, another sealant or carnuaba, will hinder if not cause complete degradation of the un-cured sealant. Even though the sealant is bonded to the finish upon application, the internal structuring (cross-linking) requires time to form to completion.
