Whats the right pad?

I just last week bought a PC it came with three 6" wave pads. Are the wave pads better then the flat pads, I know the wave produces less heat but is there any other benefits (or drawback) to it. I used the pads on a truck with some light swirls and I didnt get any results, so I had to pull out the rotary and go at it. Oh yea I used PN advanced swirl remover and PN finishing polish. So should I stwich to the flat pad or go to school for how to use the PC.

I was a strickly rotory user until I got a pc and it took awhile to get use to it. With the rotory you are using more heat with the pc you are using more pad/product so you'll want to make your movements slower.

Are they the Edge Wave pads?

Since the Wave pads have less surface area in direct contact with the paint, they generate less heat and friction than flat pads.

This will allow you work the products in longer and at higher speed settings on the Porter Cable 7424 since the venting of the Wave pads prevents the heat buildup.

Since the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl remover has diminishing abrasives, you may need to increase the speed and the buffing time to completely break down the products and achieve the results that you are looking for.

Sounds like you spend more time to accomplish what the flat pad would do.
Run it faster and longer to try and achieve the same results of the flat pad. :huh:
 
I have not used the waffle pads but it appears that they would almost be better suited for a rotary as they generate less heat.
