Actually, waxes and sealants are easier to apply and remove, on a waxed, or previously sealed surface. The simple reason being, the surface is already sealed, and the product really has nothing to adhere to. I seriously doubt if you were to go to the corner car washes that offer $99.00 "complete" details, that they would remove the old layers prior to applying a new one....Hence, what did you pay for ? The "removal" prior to applying a new coat, is an Autopian thing, were anal about car prep, polish, seal etc...How do you judge what your getting (product wise) if you dont start from scratch (removal first)? Kind of like painting a room without either priming or cleaning the dust off, its just something a true Autopian/detail fanatic/responsible detailer would do. Now, unless your "layering", which means applying multiple layers of a protective barrier i.e. Klasse, Platinum, Blackfire, you wouldnt want to remove any previously applied coats, your defeating your coats of protective barriers. You can also do the same with pure carnaubas, you just need to make sure there "pure", which means non-abrasive, non cleaning. Hope this cleared things up a little, more will chime in, rest assured.....
