PS on a minivan here. :woot: Thats about the limit that I will spend for wax. Will probably try Ultima when I get some mad money.

Just saw pics of the Quest...definitely doesn't fit the mold of your typical looking minivans. Looks great! :2thumbs:



A relative of mine just got a new Odyssey (much to his chagrin) and based on his other cars, I'm sure it won't be long before I'll be helping him take care of it. :buffing:
 
Hey! Hey! Respect the van bro's, we have a 05 Toyota with every friggin option except AWD and it listed for 40K. I give the wife my evil look when she starts yaking about getting something else. If you have kids, the van beats the crap out of anything else to haul them and their friends. I have used every sealant and wax I've ever bought for my car on the van too.
 
Souveran is a great wax as long as you orep the car right before applying PS.

Shout out to the van owners. And yes, having little ones, it's nice not to have to bend way over to pull 'em out.



So far, $25 has been about my limit for some Menz SIP on sale from Autogeek. But I've toyed with getting some 106FF so I guess my limit is probably $50.



I agree with the "you just go 'round once" philosophy and next stop pearly gates, but I gotta wonder if the Big Guy isn't going to ponder a moment or two about the best use of $1800. But that's a slippery slope and one that would probably find me using Turtle wax on a ratted out mid-80's Taurus.

I'll stick with Pro Polymer II sealant and Pro Carnuba paste wax. I havent had one disappointed customer with it yet! :D Shop cost less than $40 for both!

I'm too cheap to spend a lot. $30-40 is probably my tops. To me my cars look so much better from polishing that just about any lsp will look good. And being in Michigan my cars rarely stay clean long enough for it to be worthwhile to buy something expensive.
 
I shelled out the $70 bucks for UPGP and haven't regretted it. Mostly because I use so little with each application that the bottle will go a very long way. The shine and slickness are great as well. They need to fix the applicator though . . .



That's pretty much my tops as price per product goes.

The most I might ,and I said might, spend would be $100 but that would be for 2 jars of Souveran. Right now I have 2 jars of NB and looking for Danase Hard Core Wax.
 
I never could figure out why people spend so much on these high end waxes. I broke down and bought Pinnacle Souveran and while I will say it is the nicest carnuaba wax I have ever used it has very little durability which really isn't an issue for me but I cannot see any difference between it and a good sealant that last 10 times longer. Now I see a lot of high end cars using Swissvax Concorso which is even more money than Souveran and am guesing if I did part of my car with PS, part with Concorso and part with a good sealant nobody would be able to differentiate between any of them. Maybe I just don't know what I should be looking for but I just don't get the whole carnuaba thing. I wish I did.

Don't wish that! You and your pocket book will be much happier *not* getting the whole carnauba thing. :)

Who says that is the criteria?



Is a Ferrari really 4x better than a car that cost 1/4 of it?



You reach a point of diminishing returns as you pay for the top end of anything....including wax. Whether or not that extra cost is worth it to you is a purely personal matter. It certainly isn't as objective as saying anything that costs 4x more should be 4x better!

Its not about the money, its about the looks. If I buy a bottle of Simoniz wax for $1, does a $20 container of Nattys provide 20x the looks? Probably not and I'll venture out to say it definitely not. Same thing with your $200 wax example only on a different scale.



Enthusiasts aren't worried about the price as much as the performance. Every little difference in looks is worth that additional extra price.



Of course in the real world, most people are constrained by finances but if we weren't we would all be buying Zymol Polarises....

That's how much a bottle of Z2 Pro costs me. Can see any reason to spend more.



Unfortunately, it's all the other products (ZAIO, Z5, Pro, Z6, Z7, Z8, ZFX) that "ring up the bill"! :D
