What's the LATEST in the day you've ever STARTED a detailing?

I got home from work tonight, all wound up, about 9:30. I checked my emails, and then, at about 10 after 10, I turned on the radio, picked up the CCD, and dusted the car; then I QD'd it; then, I applied a coat of wax. I walked the dog, did the top & wheels, removed the wax. It's now about 11:55 PM.

I'm sure I've started detailing my car (as in, started by washing or QDing it, finished by waxing it) as late as 11PM, but I'm not sure if I've ever started one later than that.

3AM doesn't count if you didn't go to bed afterwards. If you stayed awake after that, then it would be the earliest.

Got back from the office last night/this morning at 2AM. I was taking the Jeep to work today, so she got a QeW/Glanz treatment in the garage. The wheels and tires just needed a wipe and the interior was fine. Thus, total time was only an hour so I'm not sure if this counts.

*edit* And yes, there was some sleeping between 3:30 and 8AM.

my neighbor found out at 10pm the night before the D1 drift showoff that a shop wanted to show his car in their booth there... I started on it around midnight (w/ spotlight in hand) and finished around 4am... 2xDACP, 1xSFP, 1xVM, and 1xCMW... black S14 w/ plenty of swirls

booth cars had to be in the gates by 6am. needless to say, he didn't get much sleep that night ;)

This is so bizarre.... I just did what you describe above (minus the dog) last night! Played XBox until midnight.

Then, I decided to do the above because I wanted to time how long it takes me to do each of the steps. (I use my daily driver as practice.)

CCD Dust: 3 min.

QD w/ WG: 10 min.

WG DG x1: 15 min.

Remove: 25 min.

Trim & Tires: 10 min.

Anyway, I slept well that night! :D With no breaks, I actually broke a sweat (it was about 75-80F in the garage.)

Haha, creepy! Well, that's the internet for ya. He's fairly (in)famous in the 240 online community...

Sorry for the threadjack, to get things back on-topic:

I don't have a garage of my own so all my details are well-planned and scheduled in advance. My latest start would probably be ~11AM. :o

The latest I've started is around 11:45pm. I sorta like detailing at night. It's not hot out, your not sweating to death out in the sun washing, the humidity is usually down, and it's nice and quiet. :up

Latest I've started is 10 p.m. The only problem I found with detailing at night is that there is no evaporation so I find myself buffing more to prevent streaking.

I've pulled a few all nighters before. Had the portable A/C and dehumidfier running though. Star ttime was around 9-10PM, finished at around 7 or 8 in the morning.

Plenty of times(on the weekend) I went to dinner with my wife, came home late and sneek into the garage turned on the radio and detailed all night Think about it NO CALLS, NOKIDS and complete consintration......The next day I am useless untill late afternoon but I have a clean car!
