I'm pretty new to detailing and I'd like to get better. I don't yet have a PC, hopefully by next summer, but until then, I was wondering if there was anyway I could get these swirls out by hand? I just picked up the truck and it looks like the guy before me washed with a brush instead of a mitt :(

Any help is greatly appreciated

I've been reading and reading for almost 3 months now. And I know everyone says DACP is capable of working wonders... with a PC. My question is, do I need something more aggressive than DACP or would that do the job?

PS - Thanks for the quick response

you can use DACP by hand and get good results. Just make sure to use some muscle and work it in real good. Hopefully Scottwax will chime in, he used to do all of his work by hand!

In my experience, DACP on PC might take a couple passes for the above swirls. By, hand not sure. Just give it a shot...it can only make it better.

I would try some ScratchX by hand first, it works pretty good and can be found locally. Use a Terry towel folded up nice and small so you can get a good grip on it and really get some friction/heat going. It is a pain in the rear to do by hand and you may have to do a panel a day depending how rubbery your arm feels after doing it for a while :D.

I'm gunna give the ScratchX a shot I think. Thanks for the quick responses. Any other suggestions are welcome ;):bow

Since you are working by hand, I would recommend checking out some Poorboy's products. The SSR2.5 or SSR2 would do a great job on those swirls and are both very easy to work with by hand.

I have swirls much like that. I will try to go by hand for now. Here is a picture.

I think I will get some SSR2.5 and SSR1, then possibly a glaze, seal, wax. :bounce
