What's in your "contract"

The dealership i work at does this EVERYTIME a customer complains about a dent that "was not there before" and it's funny because when i take the car up front they immediately walk straight to the dent and say"that wasn't there" and give us all this crap over a scratch or even stains in the interior of FILTHY cars so the stupid estimators ask us to clean them up constantly just because the customer's crying about it. One of these days i'm gonna tell the estimators to F off. I need to find me an affordable place to live with a garage and start doing details full time so that i don't have to deal with annoying co-workers.

Just a guess, but this is probably because of the type of customer that the dealership detailing attracts. $99 details bring out the "want everything for nothing" type of customer, generally.

Actually the dealer I worked at was a used car dealer and the owner was there all the time. He let the customers walk all over him ALL the time. Everytime someone came in they would complain that they didn't get a free car wash and wax when 2 weeks ago their friend did but what they didn't realize is their friend spent thousands of dollars... He would give them whatever they wanted and everytime they came back they wanted something or complained about something. Just like was mentioned about, they would walk RIGHT to the scratch before even looking at the car and point it out. You were able to tell that they knew about it right away. I would always think "can't they lie a little better"? My boss tried to blame me for a scratch going from the passenger side to the drivers side hood near the windshield on a brand new Acura SUV I think it was. It was all the way to the metal and rust in it. I told him that and then told him that I dont wash cars from side to side like that, I go long ways with the body lines (not sure why but it's just how I do things). And he knew that I wash cars like that. All in all, customers can be a pain in the rear and that's my whole point here...

I agree, don't charge under $100 on anything, I had a jerk I mean customer call me wanting to get a dodge neon srt detailed wanted my basic package, I told him that I charged by hour, and told him it will proabably be around $85, he toke it as everything for 85, the thing look like it hadn't been cleaned up in three years, the whole trunk was filler with crap and pieces of leaves all in the tight nit fabric, I work at least an extra two hours just trying to make it look descent. That's the main reason I'm making a contract, the other being that everyone sues each other over anything just to get some money.

Sorry for the delay guys, I've been out of town for a bit. Anyone who PM'd me or requested a copy of my waiver in this thread has been e-mailed.
