What's a good garden hose for winter....

I'm tired of hoses that kink so bought a rubber hose that I'm finding is too short anyway. I need a 100 footer. But in this cold the rubber hose doesn't flex well either.
Has anyone tried a Flexzilla hose yet ?
Or suggest a hose that works in climates that don't have palm trees.

I looked on Autopia...suprised they don't sell hoses.

I have a HD rubber hose I purchased at HD. Its beige and very heavy w/brass ends. It gets less flexible in the cold but does not kink.

I like the craftsman premium hose. It has a lifetime warranty, I have 2, one of which has to be at least 15 years old.

I've been looking for a good hose myself. They either kink or are so stiff you can't use them when cold. A lot of times I just want to rinse my car in the driveway just to get some of the salt off.

Went to tractor supply on my way home from work. Picked up a 50' airhose and a 100' garden hose. $30 and $70. Well the old vinyl airhose is going to the trash. No kinks as i stretched it out after being in the garage for an hour in the cold with 120 lbs in it. Hose is soft like it was sitting out in the Florida sun.
I'll post back after I try the garden hose out. May be too cold this weekend.

I think that's what I bought over the summer. Definitely won't kink but has a temper when rolling in the cold.

Sorry to hear that Home Depot of China is losing yet again, in the Garden Department Hoses..

Years ago, I bought a couple of their Goodyear Black Rubber 3/4" diameter 100' and 75' hoses, coiled them up on outdoor reels, and they worked just fine in weather cold enough to eventually freeze the water inside them..

Then, I would take the end off the outdoor reel, take it to the laundry room faucet and run a very warm to hot water through them and they really worked much better with all the ice melted out from the inside..

They were always flexible and never kinked, but of course you have to use good sense and make sure they are stretched out long enough and some extra before you start to use them so they wont have an opportunity to kink anyway..

It was cold enough outside that when I washed a car, the water would freeze pretty fast on the car, so I had to keep it going all the time where I was working..
Good luck in your research !

Just bought a Goodyear black hose from HD a few weeks ago. I needed one right then so I went with something I knew was decent. Long story short, I went through 5 hoses within 6 months. Luckily I didn't pay for any of them. The old Swan hoses use to be awesome. Then the company changed hands and they have never been the same. I am going to get another hose soon and it will be probably be the Craftsman.

I'm going to try the craftsman too for my back hose. That looks like what I bought at BJs years ago. Black rubber that always rolled up nicely. Those Swan hoses are definitely garbage anymore. Went through 3 of them in the past 2 years. Undoing the kinks takes longer than washing the car.

Went to sears today and purchased a 75ft black Craftsman garden hose…….. can't believe I waited this long.

It is by far superior to any of the hoses I purchased previously.

Thanks again fellas!

Exactly the one I use. Excellant, durable hose, great purchase.

I use the goodyear rubber, lifetime craftsman hoses as well. Griots sells one that they say will not kink and is good to -40 but naturally it isn't cheap.

I love my retractable black hose 10 mts by Costco.ca $50 (The green versión from Canadian Tire is sucks. It's fake). Does anyone have one..

The 8 ply Made in USA Gilmour Flexogen is the best hose I've found hands down. Around here you can only get them at Ace Hardware.
