whats a good air freshener?

Hi everybody. I am obsessed with the interior of my car smelling good. I have tried the scented oil air fresheners, Yankee fresheners, and one of those air fresheners with gel in a can. But none of them last more than 2-3 weeks. I would like your opinions on something that will last at least a month and I prefer it not to be a spray. When I say "last" I don't mean how long the stuff stays before drying out but the smell. I put it in and a few days later the fragrance starts to diminish. I live in Florida so that doesn't help much. Also, today I was at Marshalls and my mom ended up in their bath and body isle. I was curious and picked up a couple bars of soap to smell and they were awesome so I was thinking of putting a bar of soap under my seat. Has anyone done this before and does it work? How about a scented candle? Thanks.

i would suggest against that, especially in florida.

i don't think you will ever find an air freshener that will truly last. a lot of times air freshener fragrances are embedded in alcohol or some sort of slow evaporating solution which over time release the scent. once all the alcohol/solution is gone whether it be in a solid chunk of something or a gel, the thing is useless. you're basically fighting a losing battle. i used to love air spencer's squash scent, but it would start costing a lot to maintain that smell in the car...i've since given up, and settled on the scents my interior dressing sprays provide :chuckle:
 
If you have a leather interior, try one of the leather fragranced conditioners.

I love Zaino's Z10, Pinnacle's Leather conditioner and cleaner and 1Z leather conditioner.



I also leave the applicator in the vehicle for added fragrance enhancement and longevity. :idea



The comments I get from the clueless (best judges for results - no pre-established biases) is that my vehicles interiors always smell like new leather.





It doesn't hurt that the leather appear that way also. :dance

unfortunately I drive a Civic VP that doesn't even have power windows so I don't have the good fortune of having leather seats as much as I wish I did.
 
Air Spencer in whatever plastic holder suits your interior. The squash scent smells amazing, and lasts for quite a while. They can be a little hard to find, but you should be able to locate them in tuner/speed shops. I have a CS-X3 in the back, and a Giga 2 in the front air vent of my Navigator, but you should be able to get away with just the CS-X3. Hope this helps.
 
Poorboys sent me a bottle of their air freshner. It smells pretty good actually. Not to strong and a nice neutral smell.
 
how long do the sir spencers last. I looked them up and they're pretty pricey so I don't want to pay $8 for something that isn't going to last long.
 
I have been getting between between 1.5 and two months. The refills are much cheaper than the initial unit price.
