Whatever Happened to Wolfgang?

A couple of months ago, you coulda sworn everyone had Wolfgang syndrome.

Now, all I hear about is VM and EX-P, and before WG it was Klasse. Did it not turn out to be on par with everyone's expectations or was it just another passing trend (albeit a legit product) on autopia?

We're big on new products here and I wouldn't say any of the products you mentioned aren't popular anymore. It's just that most of us have discussed it to death and arrived at their own opinions. Personally, I like WG sealant a lot but I could live without the lackluster AIO clone.

I have been very happy with Wolfgang, but also fall prey to the "always trying something different" syndrome. I actually prefer using AIO as the base, and currently have Wolfgang on two of my own vehicles over several layers of Klasse. The neat thing about Wolfgang is that it looks great, is slick as can be, and is absolutely a breeze to apply. I am now considering what wax to place over my Klasse SGx3, WolfgangX3 BMW M3. I will probably try P21S as this I already have, though I am getting an urge to purchase Pinnacle Souveran.

Tried it a few months ago on my older Jeep. Nice looking shine but durability was an issue. After one month I switched back to the Klasse twins.

I just used it on a car Sunday .. I still like it and use it depending on what the customer wants. I don't think many things are on par for durability with Zaino/Klasse but its better than a lot I have used.

Just used WG last night x 2 and topped it with Pinnacle Souvern. All that I can say is WOW!!!!!

btw - The WG sealer is very easy to use, and provides a deep wet shine on black. WG is a good product to have on the shelf.

I think we all suffer from “Wax de jour syndrome, whatever wax/sealant is new/popular/most hyped we’ll try

My ‘benchmark’ for synthetics has been Klasse since ‘60s and IMO the only one that has come close is Zanio, like most WG IMO is OK but its not up to Klasse standards

~Hope this helps ~

I still have a gallon of each of the wolfgang twins, well i have gallon containers, but they are nearly empty!! I love the stuff, and use it almost daily. It always depends on my mood, and the type and color of the car. It is still one of my favorites. Especially if you top it with #16!!

I still have Wolfgang and it is my go to product on reds. I use it on others as well depending on my mood (like tpgsr :) )

For me it was a dissapointment, easy on and off but I couldnt get it to last more than a few weeks. The gloss and slickness lasted one wash.

I wouldnt put it in the sealant catagory at all, From my exp is all oils.... hence the warm glow....

Klasse still amazes me, you would think that in all these years someone would make a product that beats it.

I broke down and got Zaino last week, gonna give it a shot too. I had to promise my girl this is the last one......

I still use Wolfgang. It is just one of many products I am using. I have several customers who actually request I use it again because they like the look so much. In fact, I currently have Wolfgang topped with Souveran on my own car.

The different results we all get on this product has been perplexing. I chalk it up to our heavy industrial fallout here in the northeast.

Im vactioning in Fla right now and I gotta say my wax has been holding up much better than it would in the NJ/NY area... new found respect for Fla people, how you can detail in this heat and humidity I will neve know.

I don’t know how they (professionals) do it in the heat of south FL

Me, I’m ready as soon as its light enough to see, wash the cars and then back to the A/C garage

lol

Me, I’m ready as soon as its light enough to see, wash the cars and then back to the A/C garage

that's exactly what I do...wash at 0600 and back in the garage...

I've used WG a couple of times, very slick afterwards but it slickness disappears after first wash, using WAUD restores it a little bit. The shine and reflection is definately there on my 03 white.(for prepwork I use p21 cleansing lotion or megs step 1, they are pretty mild). I ordered klasse aio, will also clay it before hand and then finish it off with WG.

I don't know if a wax exists that keeps it's slickness after a wash, I haven't found it yet. WG is the slickest I've tried so far out of eagle one nano wax, p21s and NXT.

Texas is even hotter, although a bit less humid. Let's just say that growing up in Phoenix has me very acclimated to the heat. Not only do I work in it all day, but I get in 1-2 hours of skating in at the end of the day.

I'll take all the heat you can throw at me. Much more comfortable than detailing in 30 degree weather.

UPP stays slick for a while, at least if you wash it gently with Griot's Car Wash. Some "heavy" carnaubas like Meg's #16 and Collinite stay pretty slick too, depending on what the vehicle goes through. IMO a lot depends on what shampoo you use and how aggressively you wash, but yeah, some products really do lose their slickness after a single wash.
